Has anyone rented a full size van?

We are a large family of 7 who are going to Disney this November. We are flying into Orlando the day before Thanksgiving, driving to my inlaws in Palm Beach, and heading to Disney that Saturday.

My problem is getting from Orlando to Palm Beach and back. I have been looking into a full size van since we will have 7 people plus luggage and they are almost $2000

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should we get two cars? Or a van just for the weekend? Help!!

Mini vans hold 7 people plus luggage or the Sienna holds 8 people plus luggage. Have you looked into something like a Suburban? Two cars could work and probably give you a bit more room.

The last two times we rented minivans we had Town & Countrys. There is alot of space behind the back row (the first trip we had a scooter fully assembled in this space). Remember that there is also storage in the floor. If you can use a couple of duffle bags instead of suitcases, you can probably pack more into them and stow them in the floor. Also, you could put smaller suitcases or duffles under the kids feet.

where is the storage in the floor of the Towne and Country vans? Are you speaking of the space that the seats would go into if you were stowing them?

We have so far just rented a mini van for our group of 7 people and 7 suitcases have fit in the back behind the mini van seat and all the carry ons in and around feet. I could never find a good price on a full size van and people had reported that their own car insurance will not cover a full size van? I never did check with our insurance company. We did look into 2 cars but did not want to have to pay to park 2 vehicles at theme parks.

Full size vans (12 or 15) really don't have all that much cargo room. You cannot remove or fold the rear seat. Usually with 7 pax. we recommend a 7 pax. mini van or the 8 pax Sienna.

Thanks for the tips everyone! We have rented a minivan before but we thought it was tight. Usually we have half the family take the ME and half go with my dh in the minivan and then we have the room for the luggage. And we fit fine without the luggage for our regular weekly travels.

But with all of the luggage and kids I was worried. I guess it depends on the minivan. We have a sienna now and we can fit everything. Duffle bags are a good idea.
