Has anyone rented a cabin in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area?

I am overwhelmed by all the choices there are. Some of them look really nice, but I am not sure of how far they are from everything.

We plan to do Dollywood and Cades Cove (thanks Buckalew for the info!), but are open to suggestions of anything else to do in the area.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

The choices are overwhelming aren't they?

We are going for the first time next week and have rented a cabin in the area. My boss goes several times a year so I asked for his recommendation. It turns out another co-worker has also stayed in the particular one he mentioned so I am trying that one.

They all looked good, so I just asked around with people that I knew had used them. Unfortunately, I can't say anything from experience until I return.
;)

We use diamond mountain rentals. I like that you can see pictures of all different kinds of cabins and what the amenities are. They are usually running some kind of specials. Have a great vacation.

We stay at volunteercabinrentals.com. It is in Wears Valley, which is about 10 minutes outside of Pigeon Forge, but on the road leading to the mountains/cades cove area. It allows us to avoid the traffic in Pigeon Forge, which is usually moving at a snails pace, and hit the mountains. We love the cabins and the views they offer. It is also one of the rare places that allows for a 2 night minimum stay, most want 3 nights.

My boss and her family stayed at Oakhaven Resort and thought it was great. I believe the website is oakhavenresort.com

We have used this company every year for over 20 years. We found them to be the most reasonably priced and we have been very happy with the customer service. :goodvibes

Have a great trip!

We've stayed several times in the area and always use Timber Tops www.smokymtncabins.com

We've always gotten really great service with them and they have lots of choices for cabins (from secluded to whatever you want pretty much) and they usually have some kind of special going on.
:)

we stayed in a 2 bed condo right above Gatlinburg that was just gorgeous. Go to skimountainchalets.com and look at #24. It had a hot tub room that was like part of the bathroom but had windows all the way around and jutted out over the hill. We sat in there all night and had wine and watch the town below and the aerial car go up and down the mountain. The view of Mt. Le Conte was stunning. We did that over 10 years ago and I still remember that condo. It's pretty central to everything although you really have to drive to get from place to place. Have fun

Thanks for all the info everyone :thumbsup2

I will be very busy looking into all these websites!!
