Has Anyone *Regretted* Using Fastpass on 7DMT?

We haven't experienced this ride since it opened and have no idea if we'll like it.

We have Fastpasses for it once during our short trip, and plan to do it first thing during EMH on another day.

I have the opportunity to get another FP for it, but I haven't because I just don't know if it will be worth it.

On the day in question we currently have FP for Haunted Mansion, POTC, and Space in the PM, because these are our favorite rides. But I wonder if I should switch and get another FP for 7D? We are going in January when most lines will be shorter, but not, of course, 7D?

WWYD?

Are you going with kids? Mine wanted to ride it over and over. We used 3 FP on it, but our trip was a week long

well the first time we rode it I was like "what, that's it??" the second time I enjoyed it more. That said though, I think I'd schedule the 2nd for 7 dwarves, because you will likely have lower wait times for pirates or mansion, and or they will be easier to find if you you want to drop 7 dwarves after the first try.

tip--make sure your heads are back all the way, or you will get banged against the hard seats when it lurches up the hill.

If you want to ride it more than once without a long wait, get multiple FPs for it. Most everyone heads that way at park open. If you are not at the very front of the herd you will still have a bit of a wait. Use that time to get a ton of other rides done, and use a FP for 7DMT later on.

My DH and I are in our 30's, we scheduled 2 FP in a week and we loved it!

I'd suggest getting the FP for it anyway since it's far more difficult to get than the other attractions you listed.

I also suggest requesting the last car if you want the "full effect" of the ride. The last car was pure fun, the other cars... not so much.

I know it's not close to the same thing, but do a search on Youtube and 'watch' the ride. Might give you an idea one way or the other.

I would get the FP and, if after riding it with the other FP or during EMH, you think it is not worth it, change it then to Haunted Mansion or Pirates which should have available times for you to switch.

Thanks for all the great advice! :thumbsup2

My kids are older, and I worry about trying to split the FPs without messing something up, but I think I will go ahead and do that.

My family and I have put the fast pass down for the three days in MK, and the reason behind our decision is because many people say it's a short ride, not that thrilling, and not worth the 100+ minute waits it receives. With that being said, I'd rather value those 100+ minutes to find something else to ride that I've done quite a bit. So, we've fast pass every day at MK with a SDMT, and plan on other rides like Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger to be a standby. (:

I got FPs for it on two different days. After riding it the first time, we decided to ditch the second FP for it and get something else instead. While the ride was fun, it wasn't really worth repeating in our opinion!

My teens loved it, they were so happy that I had multiple FPs for it. They love thrill rides but just thought this one was themed well and fun but not worth a long wait inSB. It is a really cute ride, love the dwarfs!! Enjoy

For FP- or FP+ our only regrets are on wasted fast passes which is FP for rides for which it was not necessary. I would not find it a waste on 7DMT.

Now my long answer.:goodvibes

If there is a ride we want to try that is new and in high demand, we wouldn't consider it a waste at all because if it ends up we didn't like it, we didn't waste too much park time.

We did MK on Tuesday this week. It was a party day and the park closed at 7. We spent the whole day moving FP around because rides we would have used then for had no wait when we came across them. In the end, we only used one on Jungle cruise which was a 30 minute wait when we hit it. Everything else's was 20 minutes or shorter and so we just bumped our FP to another attraction.

Even 7 dwarves, which we hit at park opening--my family was in the line and off in 30 minutes.

All that to say--if you find you don't want or need the FP+, you can changed it (before it expires, I think). During a slow time--most everything else can be picked up. My family added a 4th FP today for Space Mountain. Crowds were heavier than yesterday--but yet that ride was still available in the 6:00 hour of an 11pm close day.

Yes get the fast pass you can always change it later if you want to for most other rides but mine trains will be long gone by then. :)

If you want to ride 7DMT, then get a FP. The wait times are crazy.
If the ride doesn't interest you, then use the FP for something else.

The first time my husband and I rode it we stood in line for a little over an hour. We thought the interactive queue was a lot of fun. The second time was with our adult daughter and FP's. We did not like it as well. If you have the time I would wait in line. The queue is a huge part of the experience.

We're two adults, no kids, and while we enjoyed 7DMT, it was a tame and very very short ride. We weren't prepared for how short it was and even said we were glad we had a FP for it and hadn't waited 60+ minutes in line. The ride was super cute and we felt we needed to ride it twice to catch some more of the details of it.

On the flipside, we did find that FP+ was really backing up the lines for things like Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and POTC, and we did end up changing our Splash Mountain FP for POTC. Splash had short waits because the weather was cold, but POTC was always 30-40 minutes. In January, you'll probably see fewer crowds than we did the week before Thanksgiving so it might not be quite as bad. But the experience has left me on the fence about how I want to handle my FP+ booking for future trips.

I FP the rides that are the best use of my time. So I definitely FP SDMT. I won't wait 60 minutes for any ride, never have, never will. We get to the park at Rope Drop and the whole left side of the park was virtually empty. You can get sooooo much done in the first few hours even on busy days if you are not standing in the SDMT line or Space Mountain lines.

Something that cracks me up on these boards is that people have such an aversion to the standby line and will only do rides if they have a FP. That's crazy. We were there last week and rode tons of stuff standby and never waited longer than 15 minutes. Do not fear the standby lines, especially if you can get to the parks at rope drop! Its all about using your FP wisely.

That being said, we did kind of waste a FP on ETWB last week. But it has been open our last two trips with really long lines and we ended up missing our FP both times on prior trips due to transportation issues and I wasn't able to schedule. So this was a must do for me this trip since we had never seen it. Ended up the line was only about 15 minutes long that night and it just wasn't really our cup of tea....but I was still glad we did it. Now we know.

This was one of my DDs (5 and 7) favorite rides. We were there a week and rode half dozen times. We used fast passes and stood in line. I like standing in line because of the themeing. There were some interactive things we did while wating in line that we missed during fast pass.
