Has anyone purchased "Tour Guide Mike/" Is it worth $18.95?

Yes,when you sign up,go to the forums and sign up for your touring month. If there are any changes, you will receive an email alerting you of the changes. The June hours hasve not yet been released by Disney but as soon as they are, you can be sure Mike will work as fast as possible to give you the least crowded days per park. He will also revise the entertainment schedule as needed.

Thanks for the information. I like the email feature that alerts the subscriber of changes or updates. That would definitely be a timesaver for me.

Does his site continually update as WDW changes the scheduled EMH's?
Yes, as matter of fact some of the November hours and EMH's just changed and TourGuideMiKE had to change some of his "Best Days" advice. As mentioned, you will be notified of these changes by the Vacation Club manager of the month you are a member of, in addition to it being posted on the "Updates" page of the site.

I'm using TGM for my upcoming trip. I found the site to be a little confussing at first. but after spending a little bit of time and reading everything carefully I got the hang of it. I like the site overall. :thumbsup2

I've posted the following question before and haven't really gotten an answer yet: How long is the TGM subscription for? I've heard 1 yr. and for the duration until your planned trip. Which is it? We are looking at early Dec 2007 which is more than a year away. Should I sign up now or wait?

disneyandme--the duration is either 60 or 90 days AFTER your vacation date (which you enter when you register).

I've enjoyed it so far--yes, the website is a little tricky to figure out. I'm using TGM & the UG.

I mainly subscribed because I just can't get enough Disney information.

I already had my plan & after subscribing I switched two days around to conform more to his least crowded days advice.

Does he tell you anything you cannot read on this site?

Definitely worth it....but even so, what is less than $20 compared to the total cost of the trip? While I don't like getting throwing away $20 more than the next person I wouldn't agonize over it. Yes, I suspect its all out there somewhere (although he did have the answer to a question I had no one else seemed to comprehend) less than $20 is a small price to pay for having what is there all in one place. Having said that, you'll still have to work at getting what you need out of the site but it does get easier the more time you spend.....

How exactly does TGM work? Do you plug in your dates and he tells you which park to do on which day?

You click on the month you are going and scroll down to the least crowded parks. He has each day of the month broken down into which park for morning and which park for evening. He lists them in order of best to visit. Also says whether EMHs are good for that day or not.

How far in advance does it go? Our trip's not for another year.

ETA: How does he figure out what's crowded and what isn't?

The tour guide Mike subscription is good for 60 days after the end of your trip. You tell the web site when your trip is scheduled.

I agree with all the previous posters who indicate the sight is well worth it, although difficult to navigate.

I have done a fair amount of research and I think TGM does have a slightly different take on touring advice, other than just posting least crowded days.

I've worked in the theme park business for many years and his advice was sometimes contrary to my experience. TGM has been right consistently. He knows his product.

I guess I am confused when I go to his site. I was trying to find recommended rides but I can never get back to the same place twice. I am looking to see if there is a place for recommended rides on the days we are there. Thanks :wave2:

I'm trying to renew my subscription with TGM & I had to email him for my discount (ordering within 1 year from last time) & he has not emailed me back yet. I emailed him 3 days ago. Where are you Mike????

pm'ed you :)

It is definitely worth that and more!

We went on our first trip in the beginning of July and I was NOT looking forward to the lines of people especially in the humidity of summer!

Although you can get a lot of information if you keep coming to these boards there's a lot of information that you won't find. His advice on best times and best days were great! We almost never waited in line and if there was one it was under 10 minutes!

The people on the boards there are very helpful as well! If you subscribe there is no risk with his money back guarantee.

You may find it tricky to navigate in the beginning because of the tremendous amount of information but IMHO the learning curve is fairly quick!

Good luck!

His general email sometimes gets overloaded, or the spam filter gets over aggressive. Try sending your email to renewal@tourguidemike.com

When he gives best days to go does he park hop or stay in one park or give you several options of parks or what? Also is his guide "commando" style or more relaxed? :teeth:

I recently subscribed to TGM and I love it! :thumbsup2 I do not find it difficult to navigate at all. It just takes some getting used to. I love all of his suggestions and even his corny way of writing. It keeps it entertaining! I also love how he focuses on the "why" of his suggestions. This way you can learn his reasoning and apply it yourself.

For his best days guide he offers both morning and afternoon/evening suggestions for each day. You do not have to park hop if you do not want to. I wouldn't describe him as being "commando" at all. There is so much I wish I could share about his philosophy, but I can't due to a privacy clause you have to accept with your subscription. All I can say is his philosophy is going to fit our family wonderfully and I know with TGM's advice our whole family will have a much more enjoyable and relaxing vacation.
