I guess this is supposed to be a pretty popular educational toy. It is geared towards 4th & 5th grade students.

My MIL was thinking of buying this for my DS (9) for Xmas. Does anyone have this? Will this be something that he'll enjoy? Or something that gets played with once and then put aside?

Thanks for any input.

I bought one for DGD last Christmas and she uses it all the time. DS and DIL says it really helps her with reading, etc. As a matter of fact DGD was over 2 wks ago and when we went to Target, she asked if I would buy her a new book for hers.

Got the "young" version for my niece's daughter last year and my niece told me her daughter plays with it all the time.

Whats the difference between the quantum leap pad or the regular one?

We have the blue/green one. I bought it primarily for my DD, who was then 4. My son though loved it, he was 7. The sample book was fun with an anatomy game, geography game, and some other fun thigns.

Yes, they marketed it as a learning to read toy but it has been more for my older son than my younger daughter.

The cartridges get lost easily so store them in a safe place!
