Is there a DVC discount?

Also, we want to buy them when we are at WDW. We at staying at the BCV, and thought that it would be an easy walk to Epcot. Can we purchase APs at that entrance to Epcot? I read in Birnbaum's book that they can be purchased at guest relations in the theme parks. Guest relations is generally inside the park, past admissions. How do you get inside to buy one if you do not have a ticket to get into the park? Can we buy them in the evening, or is guest relations only available certain hours of the day?

Clearly we are quite confused:confused: and any help will be greatly appreciated!

There is no DVC discount on AP's or Park Hopper passes...only the 10% discount on Length of Stay passes.

If you wish to purchase an AP at Epcot, I don't think you can do that at the International Gateway entrance near BVC...the guest relations booth is outside the turnstiles at the main entrance to the park.

I don't know the hours of guest relations.

I'm sure others here (or on the Parks board) could provide more information for you.

Unfortunately there is no DVC discount on AP's :( If you are a Disney Club member you can get a discount if you order them ahead of time. You will receive vouchers in the mail that will need to be activated at guest relations. You can order them through the DC phone number. You can also order nondiscounted passes at disneyworld.com or over the phone at 407WDWDISNEY :) The AP's will expire 1 year from the date you activate them.

You can purchase the AP's at the guest relations window at the international gateway to EPCOT. Guest relations in outside the park, so you won't have any trouble there :) I believe GR is open until the park closes, so you should be fine :)

We are Disney Club members. That discount is only available if we buy the vouchers ahead of time, not at Guest Relations? Also, what is the effective date of the AP - the day we buy the voucher or the day it is activated? Finally, I am assuming that Guest Relations can activate a voucher - right?

Thanks for all of the help!

I just got information in the mail yesterday for Disney Club. You can get the discount on annual passes at the park windows. Hoppers you must buy in advance to get the discount.

I have bought annual passes at the ticket window at the International Gateway.

The AP becomes effective the date of the voucher is activated. Guest Relations is the only place you can activate a voucher, although, I do not believe it can be activated at the international gateway to EPCOT.

I just bought an AP at WDW mid-October. I used my DC to get the discount at the Guest Relations window outsite MK.

I have activated more than one annual pass at the International Gateway. You can do it at either of the ticket booths.

I would also like to confirm that you can get a Disney Club discount on APs/PAPs at the gate. They are the only passes that qualify for a DC discount without an advance purchase.

Thanks for all of the help!

I think we will purchase our APs at the International Gateway, using our DC discount. Is Guest Relations the same as the ticket booth? Also, are they open the same hours as the theme park?

Thanks!

I bought my last AP at the ticket window at the International Plaza entrance to Epcot. I even traded in unused days on a hopper.

I have bought several APs over the years and have never gone near Guest Relations, just a ticket window.

We had purchased the AP vouchers via the mail, mine was a renewal, DH's was new.

Last month, we processed them at the Guest Relations/Ticket Booth outside of the International Gateway. They had absolutely no problem converting the vouchers to passes.

I just purchased an annual pass at animal kingdom in mid -october and did not get the dc discount. Was told dc was no longer the official card of disney.

The CM made an error and it was not in your favor. My advice is to write a letter or send an email to Disney. Include you Disney Club member number and a copy of the back of your annual pass. Tell them what the CM said. Perhaps they will refund the difference (between the DC price and the price you were charged).

Good luck!

Does anyone know the hours of guest services at the International Gateway? Thanks!

Since Guest Services functions (at least as they may relate to tickets) are handled by the ticket booth CMs, the hours are the pretty much same as those of the park they serve. The ticket/GS booths do open before the park opens, but I do not know how much before.

About 2 weeks ago I purchased an AP at the regular ticket gate at the Animal Kingdom and received the DC discount. My cousin traded a partly used Hopper pass for an AP and had to go to Guest Services to do so. Both were outside the gate and both were open at least a 1/2 hour before the park opened.

Hi, Lynderallea's comment made me think of a question.

We are considering getting AP for our next trip to WDW (Feb 28 to March 7) I hope to go again Dec 2003 to use the Annual pass again.

My husband isn't sure he wants to do Annual Pass becuase he wants to see how our then 23 month old DD does in the parks. Can you upgrade a hopper to an annual pass?

He wants to get park hoppers and then "trade them in" for Annaul passes if it ends up we want the AP instead.

Thanks

I am also interested in info about trading a PHP unused days for an AP or PAP? We have 3 days left on each of our passes from our vacation this past July.

Briefly, to get credit for the full price paid for the hopper pass, you must upgrade to an annual pass within 7 days of the first use of that hopper. The annual pass year will be back dated to begin on the first day you used the hopper. If you use any of the plus options on a hopper plus pass, you can only upgrade to a premium annual pass.

If you do not upgrade within 7 days of first use, you can get a credit for the unused days to apply to the purchase of a new annual pass. The credit is approximately equal to the number of major park unused days divided by the total number of major park days on the pass. No credit/value is given for any unused plus options. You just lose them. The annual pass year begins on the day you buy the annual pass.

Here is a link to WDWIG's FAQ on WDW tickets:

Ticket FAQ

It has some good info on upgrading tickets.

We just got back from WDW yesterday...and we bought our Premium Annual Passes at the Disney Store at Orlando Int'l Airport, moments after we landed.

I gathered our bags and my wife went to the store and bought them, and then we were off to the car rental place and on our way.

If you're flying, that's one way to do it...
