I was thinking of getting one. It'll be nice to have while waiting in line for roller coasters! who has gotten one? Is it better than the previous Game Boys?
Not yet, but maybe for the kids' birthdays (coming up in May).
The thing that appeals to me is the RECHARGABLE lithium batteries. . . ever since the kids got Gameboys, then Gameboy Advance, we never seem to have AA's around the house anymore . . .
The best thing about them is the lighting, it's internal. Regular Game Boy Advance is very hard to see and you end up having to buy an external worm light and still it is hard to see.
Target is running a special on both.
$99.00 for the Game Boy Advance SP and $ 99.00 for the regular Game Boy bundle which comes with three games.
My dh bought one the night they came out -- he went to Meijer at 12:30 a.m. But he loves his new toy and all the boys -- excuse me, MEN -- at the office are jealous (because of course he took it in for show & tell).
And I have to admit it's *much* easier to see/use than the previous Gameboys we have kicking around the house.
DH saw the one in the Target ad and told me he thought he needed one. I guess I will be a good wife and get him one before we go to WDW. DD has the original Gameboy Advance and she will probably want to trade him.
The new ones are "reverse compatible" according to dh. So I was glad about that -- I'd hate for the games he and ds have to not work on the new system.
I don't know that they've released anything specifically for the SP, but I could definitely be wrong on that. Maybe someone else knows??
