We are staying at the CR.
We are not required to leave more than 1 nights stay
for the room.
I was think of paying in full (or most of) before we
arrive at the CR.

If you have not been required to pay in full for
your WDW resort reservation - have you paid in
full anyway ?

Thanks :sunny:

We are going in June and I have paid room in full. I guess it depends on you but I rather just worry about spending money. We have paid for room, tickets and car rental

We always pay for our room in full before leaving. The really nice thing that you can do, and many people don't realize it, is that you can call CRO and put as much (or as little) as you want on the reservation.

I have a habit of taking whatever overtime I have and applying it towards the trip, either by calling and putting some money towards the reservation or by getting Disney Dollars that will be used on the trip.

It's a habit I've picked up from my dad, and dad was right--it's easier to enjoy a trip if you don't have to worry if you will have enough money to pay for the room! This is a man who planned two month long trips with me and my sister to see two different world's fairs. I know where my 'relentless planner' genes come from!

I always pay my trip ahead of time. It helps me to relax and enjoy---knowing that the fun is paid for!

We prepaid our 3 rooms this past January for our family reunion trip. It was just a lot less hassle to have the rooms paid in full at check in.

Normally though, when just DH & I, we pay at check-in. But we always have the funds ready and waiting ahead of arrival. We don't go if we don't have the $$$ to pay for everything.

We are going May 2 and i paid for mine a months ago.

I didnt know you could go without paying it all up front LOL . I always pay everything I can upfront even the rental if I can . It is nice to only have to worry about what to ride next :)

Hmm..technically we have done this. Some of the package trips we took required 'full payment', but mostly our rooms are paid for these days with our DVC membership...which is paid up so we're still technically paid in full.

We always pay the least amount of money to secure a reservation though. Its my money, why should I give the service provider a free loan? I understand that not everyone has the same financial situation and some people must force themselves to be disciplined to have the cash in hand to avoid overcharging credit cards...but giving someone a free loan just doesn't make sense _to me_

We also like to pay for as much as we possibly can in advance of our trips. We have paid our AKL ressie in full, for our May trip, and have our park hoppers, our Cirque tickets, our plane tickets, and a few food vouchers in hand and paid for. We will just have food, souveniers, and our towncar expenses to deal with, and we have set aside the money for those expenses already. It feels more relaxing to us to know that we are going into our WDW trips with no debt.

We each have our own ideas, don't we? :) I don't carry any credit cards (just have the debit card) so that I don't carry any debt. But my husband and I live paycheck to paycheck, so if we're going to vacation, it's going to be 20 here and 20 there to pay for it. It's what works for us--I don't think everyone wants to do it that way.

It sometimes is hard when the hours vary week to week on the job my DH does. But we deserve a nice relaxing vacation a couple times a year!

DW and DS and myself are going in two weeks. Besides staying at OKW (DVC members) we are staying 3 nights at CR. Put down one night dep on each reservation a 1 night and a two night. remember I only put down 1 night on each reservation. Well because of codes we now have a total of 90.00 credit on our reservations. So we got the third night for free and still have a 90.00 credit. Not to shabby.........

I'm with Joe. Why give someone my money before I have to? You can always put it in an account that may earn interest (although, the interest will not amount to much these days, it's something! :D ) Our 4 DD's are saving coins, and any time I make an inside trip to the bank (not drive through) I bring our jar and put it in the vacation account. Not enough for a money market yet, but so far we can pay for a phone call with the interest! ;)

The last 2 trips I began making monthly payments about a year ahead. Those little payments each month look so much better than that grand total at the end! ~ ;)~

I agree with Joe. I set aside a little bit of money each month and I put it into my savings account. When I'm ready to pay off my credit card bills I can use the money that account to pay the bill :p

Looks like two groups of people responding:

1) "I'll pay ahead because it's how we can manage it/don't have to worry about bills once we're there" group

and

2) "The Heck if I'm giving them my money one second before I have to do so even if I only earn $4.00 Interest" group.

With both, the money's saved....just the timing of payment is different.

Not represented is the "charge it, we'll pay it off sometime" group. :)

We always pay our Disney trips prior to arrival. I just like to have everything paid for and to have one less thing to be concerned about.

I'm sending my in-laws this November and I am pre-paying for their room at the Dolphin.
