Has anyone packed wine in your suitcase? Successfully?

We did, coming back from Italy in 2000. One of the bottles broke, the other did not, although they were both packaged identically.

We came in the house after our 12-day trip, set down our luggage and our cat kept "snuggling" up to the bag containing the broken bottle of wine! :goodvibes And yes, it was a mess! Thankfully, the bottles of olive oil and limoncello were fine!

Brought a bottle home from France last year in checked luggage. I just wrapped it in clothes.

Bringing wine home from France was a special thing - but I don't think the savings would be worth hauling a bottle to WDW. You can buy pretty good wines there for not much more than it would cost to buy them at home, unless you are planning to bring along some 3 Buck Chuck.

Hmmmm....I'm heading to DL in July and we we're also going to San Diego. Was going to hop over to Tiajuana and get some tequilla like we did last time.... but last time I could bring it as carry on. Must rethink this now... I'm not sure I want to risk my clothes smelling there should be lime and salt nearby.

Nala! Your note cracked me up! Actually, we've grown out of our "3 Buck Chuck" phase and we're picky with our wine choices! I've heard of the good selection AKL has to offer with the South African wines but not sure I want to experiment if they're pricey. We will probably try some out but still want a couple of our tried and true along with us.

We brought back 18 botttles of rum cream from Jamaica last year. We wrapped them in bubble wrap and had no fatalities

Look up wineskin or go to magellians online and then pack it in center of bag.
No problem getting them home.

I have packed wine and used the double ziploc method with bubble wrap to provide extra cushion. I'm a big fan of the tetra paks now for packing. Lots of great wines are now available in the tetra paks. We live in the Niagara area and there are more and more local wines becoming available in this packaging as well as international wines as well.

3 Buck Chuck is actually good! They have a zinfandel now. I need to try it.

Go on down to Jiko and try a couple of glasses of wine at the bar and see which one you like. They'll let you taste them before you select a glass.
