Has anyone ordered Legos from BrickLink?

DS (7) only wants a discontinued Lego set for Christmas. I pointed out that the Lego catalog he found it in is 2 years old, so they don't make it anymore. Of course he said that Santa's elves could still make it. Ebay prices are outrageous. I found BrickLink.com, but am a little worried about buying from someone in Germany! Has anyone bought here before? Am I "safe" if I buy paying with Paypal?

I purchased some minifigs from there and the only thing I would caution you about is to make sure the set is "new in package" if you are planning on buying it new.
Paying by paypal is very safe, if anything goes wrong you can go through them to get your money back.

I have ordered thru the site. It is a bunch of different sellers but I ordered from a US seller and my items came new in package. I did order a couple of mini figs that were not new but the seller clearly indicated that. The store I bought from was Brickshop206.

There are a lot of new ones in Europe, the Lego site says "not sold in US", so I was able to get it for the same list price it was here, including shipping! I am wondering if the package will be in German, but oh, well, maybe the elves go a little confused.

I'm sure your DS doesn't know this, but you should let him know that Santa's elves can't make legos. They don't have the right equipment and making all those little pieces would take way too much time. Plus, even if they did make them, they would not be real legos then. Santa has a deal worked out with the lego company, so that's where he gets them from. Sometimes he is able to get older sets, but sometimes he can't, so he will choose something else to give.
