I have stayed at the ASMo, ASSp, CBR, CSR, and AKL. I have to be honest and admit that I've liked every one! I'm not a picky person and I'm glad. I read a horrible review of the WL on another site. Nothing in particular , just complaining... small room, bad food, blah blah blah. Said they would never return and that the GF was much better. No doubt, but I wouldn't want to be THAT picky for anything! Imagine to be able to afford to stay at nice places, but be dissatisfied with everything! What for ?

Things that I've liked (in particular) about the resorts were:
ASSp- bus service, pool area-very bright and cheerful
ASmo- theming. So much fun walking into Andy's room through the big door to get to our room. Great food court!

CBR- the room was large, colorful and had lots of storage space.
AKL- the smells, Jiko and the pool area!
CSR- the Pepper Market, the architecture and the pool area!

There has been something that I've liked about every resort I've stayed at, but also there have been things I've disliked.
Looking at each experience as a whole, I have liked POFQ better than a couple of the deluxes I've stayed at. Costing more doesn't always equate to being better, IMHO.
It's just a matter of personal taste.:)

Yes! LOVED the WL and thought I would not be happy staying somewhere else. Then stayed at the BC and fell in love with the place. Then stayed in a 2-bedroom villa (on point rental) at BWV - heaven! Especially the balcony looking out to the water and the Tower of Terror. Next month we are trying the AKL (based on great reviews on this board!) and going back to WL.

I have been fairly happy overall.

All Stars - fun, good price
CBR, My first Disney resort. I really liked it.
POR - Love the landscaping
BC/YC Mainly for the location
OKW, My DVC home, I love for the calm setting and big rooms
AKL. MY ALL TIME FAV. I adore looking at animals out my window in the morning.
Dolphin So so , but would stay there again.
CSR - This resort drives me crazy. I am lost at all times and I don't really adore it, but will stay there if nothing else is available.
BWI - Only stayed in the Villas, but I liked them.
Grand Floridian - Had a horrible stay and will NEVER stay there again. (I have stayed in some EXCELLENT 5 star hotels and the service did not meet my standards for those prices. The valet service alone was enough to throw me off!)

Now I know that probably NO ONE else would stay at the All Stars over the GF, but that is the beauty of Disney.

I have! To be honest, I'm just happy to be at WDW. Whether we're at ASMo or AKL... I'm happy :) Thank goodness I'm easy to please!

I'm not saying everything has been perfect with each trip... far from it. But was what went wrong reason for me to say "I don't like this place?" No way! When we checked into ASMo the table wasn't clean. Big deal - housekeeping for the rest of the week was supurb. There are some people who would have complained forever about that dirty table, and then would have come on this board to tell everyone not to go to ASMo. I'm just not like that.

So from value to moderate to deluxe... I've been happy with them all!

Over the course of 6 visits as an adult I have stayed at the Poly, POR, and ASMO. I liked them all. I will admit, POR didnt WOW me like the others, but I definitely didnt not like it. It was fine.

yes I've liked every resort - but I'm also not picky, unless it is a big issue:
Stayed at Port Oreans before it was FQ, loved the smallness and pool, not crazy about food court.

Dixie Landings before PORS - stain on carpet, little mold in shower no big deal. Loved the pool, food court was a little crazy again.

Contemporary - Loved everything

Next Stop - Beach Club

In general I have loved everyone of the resorts I have stayed at.
GF, Polynesian, WL, YC, AKL, Dolphin, POR, POFQ, CBR, CSR, ASM.
I was slightly disappointed at the GF just because we payed so much I expected more. I'm not sure what more but something more! :) I was slightly disappointed at the Polynesian but probably because I had wanted to stay there since it opened in 1971 and didn't get to until 2001!!! I also found POFQ to be not quite as exciting but it was someone elses choice to stay there and I wanted to be able to experience it just to say that I had stayed at all the moderates! But we have bnot had a bad stay anywhere and the Disney feel is pretty prominent , even at the Dolphin.

Nope... we definitely did not like CBR. I know I am in the minority but it just wasn't our thing.

We have liked each resort we have stayed at. Our favorite is still CBR but I don't think you can have a bad experience at WDW.

I am easy going too... don't get me wrong - I usually stay at high end resorts and have expectations for my stay.. but I am also reasonable and know that problems can arise and mistakes can be made, things overlooked... etc...

I have noticed that more often then not the people that have the biggest list of complaints are the ones who did not try to resolve the serious issues while they were there.

(ie)

"We had a TERRIBLE view and will not stay there again" - but did not inquire whether it was possible to move.

"The girl at the front desk was SO RUDE" but did not ask to speak with a supervisor or another CM. (there is no excuse for rudeness - why put up with it?)

If I have some type of difficulty - I deal with it there.. not harbour resentment and let it jade my whole holiday.

I can't say there has ever been an issue at Disney that was not resolved to my satisfaction. Sometimes I cannot believe the things I read in reports where guests had reasonable, justifyable concerns and did nothing about them while there and came back and complained about it here.

And then there are people who are never happy with anything and always have something to complain about.

I can honestly say that we have loved every resort we have stayed in for different reasons. I will try and list a few...

-- Animal Kingdom Lodge (1 time) - What a thrill to wake up and look onto the savannah, plus Boma is my favorite restaurant at WDW

-- The Contemporary (2 times) - It is great to be at the "original", the monorail is so convienent, and we love breakfast at Chef Mickey's

-- The Polynesian (1 time) - just a beautiful resort with a wonderful view of the MK fireworks, the Luau is wonderful, and we love the volcano pool

-- The Swan (1 time) - great to be able to walk in and out of Epcot, nice balcony views, the grotto pool is lots of fun

-- The Dolphin (1 time) - rooms are not quite as nice as the Swan (double vs. queen beds), but better restaurant selection for small kids

Coronado Springs (2 times) - great pool, beautiful resort, you really get the feeling of being in the Mexico, architecture and atmosphere are as well done as any resort on property

All Star Sports (4 times) - Lots of eye candy, my kids love the football field

All Star Music (7 times) - The first resort we stayed at holds a special place in our hearts, even with water slides at other resorts, my kid's favorite pool remains the Three Cabelleros pool

All Star Movies (1 time) - More eye candy than any other and Andy's Room is sooooo cool for the kids to play

Port Orleans Riverside (3 times) - Boatrights is a great breakfast restaurant and the boatride to Downtown Disney is fun, great resort for a parkless day (lots to do between fishing, bike riding, pools, boats, and Downtown Disney)

Port Orleans French Quarter (2 times) - Sometimes it's nice to be at a small resort, we love the feel of the streets and street lights, also it is beautiful, especially in the spring when flowers are in bloom

Carribbean Beach Resort (4 times) - All things considered, our favorite resort, bus service is wonderful, the food court is great, the beach areas are kept so nice, the quiet pools are never crowded, and the staff at this resort always seems to have that something extra, all four times we have stayed there at least one staff member has made us go WOW!!!! :)

We are looking forward to trying the Yacht Club this Memorial Day. I'm sure we will love it too!!!

I have LOVED most of the resorts I have stayed at.
GF loved it and will stay again
YC again loved it
BC loved it
AKL really loved it
Swan sorta loved it. Okay I am still in love with the bed.
WL did NOT love it. Just okay. I don't think I will stay their again because their are to many place that I liked better.

I have enjoyed every deluxe and moderate resort (I've now stayed at them all), but have had two bad trips at the All - Stars and have determined that I won't stay there again. I think the All-Stars deliver what they promise, but they don't promise enough to make me happy. I need good recreation, a variety of restaurants, good transportation, good pools, and at least a decent view. The All - Stars offer none of that. Of course, they don't claim to, so I don't blame Disney. These are simply not my cup of tea.

List of WDW resorts we have stayed at in the order we liked them. 1 being our favorite. Number of times at each in ( ).

1) WL(15)
2) GF (8)
3) AKL(2)
4) BWI(1)
5) DL (1)
6) Poly(1)

I am going to say that I did raise some of my GF issues while I was there. (Mainly a completly screwed up bill becuase the CM was earning her ears!) However, my overall problem with that resort comes from expectaions. Disney and the press have built this up to be a 5 star flagship resort. As such I expected, and for those prices felt I deserved, top quality service top to bottom. I was comparing it to things like a Ritz Carlton. In my mind for my stay, it did not come CLOSE to measuring up to other top drawer resort hotels. Rooms were nice and clean however! It was more the service, attitude and other things that I have come to expect from top drawer hotels. I don't expect those things at the All Stars or even to the same extent at the BC/YC.

I've stayed at:

All Star Music (2)
All Star Sports (2)
CBR (1)
Swan (1)
Polynesian (1)
Contemporary (1)
OKW (5)
VWL (1)
BWV (2)
BCV (1)

The only one I didn't like was All Star Music. It was our first Disney resort and we loved it then, but I went back after a couple of years and didn't like it at all. It was far too spread out for us and I didn't like the music theme or the pool. I have stayed at All Star Sports more recently (twice!) and liked it much better :).

My favorite? OKW if I want relaxation and the Contemporary when I want to be in the middle of things.

I have only stayed at 2 of the resorts and love them both - The GF and the Poly as we switch off every year.

I know the GF has not been a favorite of many because the level of service does not equal the price......it is true,( it is almost as expensive as my favorite caribbean getaway $670.00 per night at GF -room only- vs $750.00 per night at Cap juluca. ) The level of service does lack in many ways in the GF, at times the "special attention" is just not there , and for the money they you pay, it should be. In defense though, it is Disney and the CM at the GF are trying to make a large diverse group of people happy, with very high expectations. There is much more to deal with other than Hotel business, so I cannot compare it to a Ritz Carlton or a Four Seasons...those hotels do not have the largest theme park in their back yard and tons of children and tired parents and lots of people walking into the Hotel to visit etc... While at the small intimate caribbean getaway, the crowd is adults only and numbers around 175 people, and no one else is allowed! I think in the "Disney World" of hotels it is quite wonderful - its is a league of its own, close to the parks, beautiful rooms, great restaurants. Is it worth it? To us it is, but I can most definately understand why many do not think it is. That is the great thing about WDW...there is something for everyone, in every theme, for all to enjoy.

We have stayed

Poly-3 times, once concierge (Staying there again in July, concierge)
BWV-1
GF-1
CBR-1
WL-1
Old Dixie Landing-3
Disney Institute-1

Of the ones that we have stayed at my least favorite was CBR. We thought the walls were too thin and you could hear everything that was going on upstairs or next door. GF was a dissapointment to me, I just didn' t like it. Favorite is Poly. We will be now staying at the Yacht Club, courtesy of the POFQ relocation. Looking forward to it.

We've loved every resort we've stayed at. Why wouldn't we ~ we were on vacation, away from work, in the sun and warm weather, relaxing by the pool, laughing and joking and basically just getting away from reality :D

Honestly, if they stuck an AS hotel near where you live, do you think you would be impressed with it? Or are so many other things in WDW SOOOO impressive that something like the AS just doesn't cut it????
