Has anyone heard of this?

I got this in a round about way so I don't know if it is right or not. I was told that when you make dining reservations, they ask the names of the people. I was also told that each person has to present their own card when on the dining plan. Did anyone hear this? I have made reservations for May and no one asked our names. Having to give each card will take forever! Is this just another one of those rumors? I sure hope so!!!

What card are you talking about? Do you mean your KTTW card? If you are on the DDP, we have only had to use one dey card to pay for everyone in the room.

It is the room key card that has the dining plan on it. I don't know if it is true but I was told that each person on the plan has to present their own card instead of just one. We have always just given one.

You do have to give MS the names of everyone in your party when adding the DDP to your DVC reservation if you didn't do it when you made the room reservation. And you do have to purchase the Dining Plan for each night of your stay for every person in your party.

Perhaps your source was just confused. You do not have to give all the names when making an ADR - just the number of people in your party.

And as all the others have posted, if you are paying for your meal with the DDP, you only need one card. The servers can subtract the correct amount of credits no matter which Room Key is used to "pay". The DDP is tied to all KTTW cards for the room.

No. But the CM will probably ask. You can certainly tell the CM you haven't decided yet if that is the case. It won't matter if you say yes or no and you don't have to call back later to tell Dining that you are on the DDP or changed your mind and are not on the DDP. AFAIK, they are just collecting data when they ask if you are on a plan.

Thanks Carol. This is our first time trying the DDP so we're a little green on the subject. Love these boards. You guys are always so helpful.
