Has Anyone Had This Type of Hotwire Experience?

I joined Hotwire Savings Club in November primarily to save on PH+ passes and Q&C meal vouchers.
Since it is the holiday season, I also decided to take advantage of the great deals on giftcards and restaurant gift certificates...Why not save some $$, after all, we ARE budgeting for a trip to WDW in the Spring...

Well, the first 2 or 3 orders I placed were shipped prompty - very promptly - I received them in less than a week via express mail...
Well, with my next order (and subsequent orders), I started experiencing something different...Hotwire shipped only partial orders...they did bill my credit card for only what was shipped, but the orders were, as I said, only partial and not nearly as timely. (I had to call twice to find out what had happened to one particular order. In general, I found the Customer Service Reps to be pleasant, but I also found them to lack the information to be able to assist me in my request. I heard repeatedly, "Well, I'll have to put in a service request to investigate your issue...call back if you do not receive your order in the 7-10 business days..." Ugh! One operator even gave me mis-information stating that it was MY Credit Card company holding up the shipment!! Obviously, I called my cc company, and they had fully approved the entire transaction...Ugh (again)!)

Eventually, I did receive the balance of the first order, but I am still waiting to find out what happened to the other half of my most recent one...

I intentionally placed my orders at the beginning of the month so I would be assured to get the credit on my card at the end of the month. That way, I can keep the records "neat and clean" and cancel my membership without worrying about losing any of the credits due to me...

Many people have posted that Hotwire is far superior to Connections (as far as Customer Service), maybe I am in the small minority of folks who have a problem with them...
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with Hotwire shipping only partial orders?

I just placed 2 seperate orders yesterday for Q&C vouchers (one with a credit card and one with a webcertificate). I, like you, received my first orders in a VERY timely manner. I'll keep you abreast of the status of my orders from yesterday, but hopefully all will be resolved on your orders before I receive mine.

After reading your post, I must admit that I'm a little nervous. :worried: I hope the remainder of your orders are in your hands very soon. Maybe it was just a minor glitch....I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us.
 
My orders placed 12/15 arrived yesterday (12/19). I ordered 10 Q&C Vouchers and all arrived. This was my 3rd order with Hotwire SC and it was just as prompt as the 1st two orders.

lgazz, I hope your Hotwire SC problems have been resolved, or that they will be soon.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have problems similar to that! I placed 2 orders last week. Both were on the same day but one was in the morning and one in the evening. In the morning I ordered my parents PH+ passes and some Q&C vouchers. Later that evening I realized I forgot to order the character breakfast vouchers for the 2 meals we have planned so I went online and ordered them. The Character vouchers arrived today but no sign of the passes and Q&C vouchers. Of course the one we didn't get is the more important one. :rolleyes: We still have a week before we leave but of course no mail on the 25th so we're just praying we see them before we leave!!! I read so many people saying they got more expensive orders through Airborne so I was hoping we'd have seen them by now. No such luck for me I guess. The $65 order came before the $500+ order.
 

The same exact thing happened to me, except that it was with Connections. It was about 4 weeks after I ordered and kept getting the 7-10 days to investigate thing about the 3rd time.

I went to Connections website to send them a email and had a "suit" email me and call me on the phone within 3 days and had my passes and vouchers 5 days later with lots of apologies.

I agree with you that the service reps are very friendly, but not a lot of help when it comes to things like this.
 
Not sure what gift certificates you ordered, but I had a similar experience with my first order through Hotwire. I ordered several restaurant certificates and 2 Circuit City certificates. Everything arrived except the Circuit City certificates, which I was not billed for at that time. They came a couple of weeks after my original order, everything fine. In fact I called too when my order came without the Circuit City certificates. Very nice customer service person. My only disappointment is being able to buy 15 restaurant coupons per year. They are only worth $10 each. Doesn't go too far at restaurants these days.
 
I'm glad you posted this, I too just joined. When I joined last weekend, I never received any emails from them. However, I was able to get my id number by calling and punching in my telephone number. Then I ordered some gift cards and figured I would receive them in about 10 days since it's a busy time of year with mail. However, Friday I received part of the order (only 5 days) but am missing the bigger part of my order. Hopefully, they will arrive within the next couple of days. My only concern is (1) I don't have a regular mailman these days and sometimes mail is delivered to the wrong houses, and (2) I couldn't access anything on Hotwire's site telling me the status of my oder. Did I miss someting or can you not get this information?

P.S. My inquiry email that I sent to Hotwire last weekend about not be able to access my account, received a reply from them saying my membership was cancelled. Think I'll give them a call today since something wacky is happening. Glad to hear the PH passes come priority mail!
 
I had a similar experience. My first order came quickly -- in my second I ordered gift cards and some movie passes. The gift cards came, but no passes. After about another week I called them (I really hate that I can't access my order status online), and they said that they never received an order for movie passes, and I had not been billed for them. The movie passes showed up the next day -- so now I need to look over my Visa statement and see if they were billed. I also needed to return $150 from Toys R Us -- I bought them for Christmas shopping, but then found out I can't use them online (our closest TRU is about 40 mins away). I am a little worried about that (although I did send them certified mail and already received a receipt).
 
Hotwire customer service stinks (friendly agents but without a clue). My account was cancelled without any explanation nor did they try to contact me by phone or email. I tried to re-enroll but was told I had to wait 3 weeks for the "system" to clear out my old registration number. It just doesn't make sense!
 
Oh my, I just joined too. I think this thread is giving me a bad feeling about the club.
 
Just wanted to add that before I joined Hotwire I read a lot of reviews about them. Almost all were good and people seemed to be happy with their membership(s). My sister also has been reading reviews (she has dealpass or something like that) and is switching to Hotwire. Hopefully, it will out work out because I still want to order my PHP and vouchers for my trip in February.

Well, just like a few of you, I bought multiple items, to have part of the order filled. Well, the rest came in today's mail! 2 of them were for Circuit City. I bet alot of people have been buying those, and quite possibly they ran out.

I have never had a problem with either Connections or Hotwire. I switched to hotwire because its monthly, was cheaper, and offered more store cards than Connections.

I would expect many of those places were VERY popular for Christmas gifts - especially with a % back on them. Save $ on your gifts before you even start!

Hopefully they will get them all out to you quickly!

I don't belong myself, probably will try it after the holidays.
 
both my daughter and I belonged and never had any problem with our orders and customer service was great..if they didn't know they found out. I would guess any merchant is busier right around the holidays as is the mail and would expect some delays..
 
just an update on our situation with this...we never did get my parent's park hopper tickets and our Q&C vouchers. We leave for WDW tomorrow so we have to buy them hoppers from somewhere else now. Friday was 8 business days after I ordered them and they didn't make it in time. :( The breakfast vouchers came within 4 or 5 days (2 or 3 business days) but not the park tickets. I did them in 2 seperate orders on the same day, actually I did the park tickets and Q&Cs in the AM and the character breakfast vouchers in the PM. I'd read on here that orders over a certain $ amount were given "priority" and were shipped with Airborne. Either that has changed or the $ amount is more than the $550 we ordered. Fortunately they have a return policy for the passes and we can use the Q&Cs on our next trip but it's still a disappointment. In the future I'd make sure to order things at least 3-4 weeks in advance just to be sure. This was a last minute trip for us so we didn't have that much notice but we were hoping for the best.
 
at least if you can return them you are not out money except what ever savings you would have had...I ordered some clothes yesterday to take with us (obviously from another source) and didn't see it says they take almost 2 weeks to get here at this time of year instead of the usual few days..guess I won't be taking those either!
