Since day before yesterday, my iphone refuses to charge - when you plug it in, it does for a few seconds, then the top right picture changes to the picture to show charging is done. However, the battery picture is still in the red and my battery status shows there is hardly any juice in it. I know it's not the charger bc I've tried three different ones with the same results. I have not done anything to my phone. Anyone have any ideas before I go to an apple store?

Thanks!

Have you tried both a wall charger and your computer? When you try on your computer, does it connect to iTunes? Is it connected directly to the computer and not through a hub or keyboard? How old is the phone? If it's still under warranty I would just take it to an Apple store (if possible) and have it serviced.

Sometimes my blackberry does that. I just take the battery out and put it back in again and then it will accept a charge. Good luck.

I was going to suggest this too, but it seems that removing an iPhone battery is very difficult. Thanks a lot Apple .

Have you tried rebooting the phone. Hold the power button while holding the home button. In about 10 seconds it should power off. They turn it back on. That usually resolves all issues for me. Also, try connecting it to iTunes and seeing if it loses connection there, if not charge it connected to your computer. If all this fails, I think a visit to the genius bar is in your future.

My wife and I both have iTouchs. Mine charges perfectly fine, but hers always does the same as the OP's. It shows that it is charging for a minute or two and then it just stops.

Last night, I connected her unit to my charging cable. It charged all the way up with no problems. Apparently, there is something amiss with her AC charger, not her ipod. I'll replace it in the next few days.

My iphone does this every time I charge now...didn't before. I have to turn it right off then back on again and it shows a full charge.

My IPhone does that also. It happens when the charge becomes very low. I found to solve the issue what I need to do is charge the phone through the computer. For what ever reason that takes care of the problem.

Try a full reboot as described above....it happened to my Iphone 3G once, wouldn't charge at all no matter where I put it, but after I rebooted it, worked fine.
