Has anyone had items shipped home from disney world?

Has anyone bought something at Disney World and instead of dragging it back with you had them ship it to your home instead? What shipping company do they ship with? About how long does it take to get something they've shipped?

Three years ago we shipped one of our purchases home. It was a very easy process, just let the CM know that you would like to ship the purchase to your home prior to them ringing up your purchase. You will need to fill out a form with your shipping information.

It will take about a week from the time of your purchase to ship to your home. When the package came to the house, the whole fam was beyond excited to open the box. It was reliving some of the Disney vacation magic!

Our package was shipped via FedEx or UPS, I do not recall which one.

I have done this many times. It makes life much easier. You don't have to worry about fitting things in your luggage. We still laugh about the year my nephew saved his money to buy the monorail and many of the buildings. Because we could not find all the pieces in one store, we ended up shipping four orders. They arrived via UPS on four consecutive days. On the last day, the UPS guy asked if we had left anything in Disney World. I said, "Nope. You have just delivered the EPCOT ball."

Some purchases require that you ship them home - my nephew's swords from China.

I always send home fragile items. If they break in transit, Disney replaces them.

We were home only a day or two when the items arrived. So the delivery time is probably 7 - 10 days.

I shipped home a window AC unit from our tent camping stay at FW .
We flew home and the AC unit had to be shipped. I set up a FEDEX account and a pre-printed return label from home with a pickup time for after our ME departure time.

I bought a little replica of the partner's statue last year and had it shipped back.
I'm pretty sure it came with FedEx?

I bought it in the Magic Kingdom on Wed the 18th and it was arriving at my door (in Western Canada may I add) on the morning of Friday the 20th….I was SHOCKED that it was there that quickly, the delivery woman even made a comment about how my hair was still covered in pixie dust

You fill out a similar form to the ones they have you fill out when you ship something back to the resort, and you do pay for "insurance" type deal, but for certain things it works out better!

Do they notify you at all when it's shipped so you have an idea of when it should be there or is it more of a just have to wait around for it.

I ordered some sketches from the art store my last night there and had them shipped because I was leaving in the morning. The guy that was helping me didn't seem like he knew a whole lot about what he was doing or just hadn't done it enough so I didn't even think to ask. I was more focused on making sure what I wanted was taken down right....and I'm still not sure if it was.

I was listening to a different guy help some other people with the same thing but then he must have been done for the night or something because when I got ready he wasn't around anywhere. He seemed like he knew the process far better than the guy that helped me. He said it took X amount of time for each picture to be made so depending on where they fall in line it might take a bit for them to get done before they can ship.

On a similar note, can you package up all your purchases and send them home all together at the end of your trip? Like a UPS Store or something? It seems I read about it somewhere on these boards.

There can be a hefty shipping fee on stuff you get shipped btw, I had bought one of the large stuffed stitches at one point and to ship it home was almost the cost of buying it.

I purchased a nutcracker from Germany and shipped it home thinking it would have a safer journey. When I got it about 7 days later the arm was broken. We went back to MK in March and I purchased a Mickey birdfeeder from the garden show and it arrived in perfect condition. It also tool about 5-6 days to get and it was not that expensive to ship.

We have had items shipped home on every trip, works out really well. I collect music boxes so almost no way to pack them to fly home. I also always buy items from the Christmas store and have them personalized. Sometimes the time frame for having them personalized is after we have already headed home. All of my items have arrived in the time frame purchased. The shipping can be expensive, but since most of the items we have shipped are very fragile, it is worth it to make sure they arrive in one piece.

We ship almost every trip....for over 20 years! Love not having to carry things, no worries about breakage! And the fun part is that it keeps the magic alive a little longer....having a bit of magic show up at my door a week or so later. Certainly well worth the cost - though I never thought the costs were excessive.
I would certainly recommend it.

We did. We purchased a frame of family history & family crest. We live in Canada. Disney uses UPS.... which charges brokerage fees btw.

I filled a box of potato head pieces and had them sent home. The coolest part was that I said, "Oh I wish I had gotten that piece" about something on my way out the store, and the CM unpacked my box and added the piece. It was so sweet and a nice little sprinkle of pixie dust.

It did arrive a few days after me, perfect timing. To be safe, I waited until later in my trip to buy. Didn't want them to arrive before me!

We ship purchases home every trip. If you are buying a lot we found it was cheaper to ship UPS rather than having individual purchases shipped from the parks to home. We had the packages sent to our resort from the parks so we didn't have to carry them around. The next day you can go to the gift shop at your resort and pick up your packages. On the day before departure we went to the gift shop and asked for boxes and tape. They let us take the tape dispenser to our room to pack everything up. We then got a luggage cart and brought the boxes to concierge where they arranged for the UPS shipping. It worked great! One trip we shipped three huge boxes. It was like Christmas when the boxes arrived at home.

We do this every trip. Disney uses UPS, once you paid for your purchase they will give you a copy of the shipping receipt that will have the tracking number on it. You can track your shipment through UPS' website. As for how long it takes to get to it's destination, well for us we had things shipped within a week, sometimes a week and a half after we got home.

They showed up today. I was a little surprised they were here already. The pictures ended up with some slightly banged up corners but I'm not sure that can be avoided in shipping. Overall they're just what I wanted.

It could be a big offset, depending on the purchase price. I recently made a $475 purchase, paid no sales tax and the shipping cost was only $8.
