I want to purchase my tickets today before the price increase. But there is no answer right now.
Wonder if they left because they knew the prices where going up? ;)

Beth,

Only the prices of tickets SOLD AT THE GATE are increasing. Advance purchase prices are not changing. That means anything you buy in advance from Disney, AAA, Paramount, etc. will not change.

So don't sweat not getting through.

Thanks Golden Oldie!

I bought my tickets from Paramount on-line. After waiting too long to get a good price at Alamo on a rental car, I did not want to get burned again.

It is interesting that it is only tickets sold at the gate that are going up in price (for NOW  ). I can't imagine that the percentage that are sold at the gate are that great compared to what are bought in advance. What do you think?

They still sell many more tickets at WDW at parks and resorts than you may think. That's why they came out with the advance purchase pricing last September to try to cut down on that number.

You have to remember that even though there are several thousand DISers who know all the ins and outs of saving money at Disney, there are many more thousands who just go to WDW blindly buying what they need when they get there.

BTW, call me old fashioned but I'm still not 100% convinced on the scope and/or veracity of this price increase yet. Usually anytime Disney increases prices for anything, it makes the TV and newspaper in a big way. The media pounces on this. There's been nothing at all about this. Zippo. So let's say that I'm still cautiously pessimistic about this whole thing. Too many things just don't seem to add up yet. I guess I'll know for sure on Sunday. ;) JMHO.

You know, we discuss the most CURRENT Disney news here, Golden Oldie. We don't always discuss the most ACCURATE news sometimes though. ;)

It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday. But I am glad this information forced to me to "take the plunge" and buy my tickets today. :)

Oh good, it's only $2. :)

And I hope paramount doesn't go up on their prices too-haven't got my tickets there yet! LOL

Oh and btw- they mention Universal Studios going up in price-but have you seen how much CHEAPER their annual passes are than Disney? Big difference there.

Please don't flame me..........:(

Universal's AP rates are cheaper. However, they only have 2 parks and CityWalk, not 4 parks and DTD, Pleasure Island, West Side, Cirque, Water Parks, etc.

I have both, and I find that after the Universal parks close at 7 or 8 in the evening, I still have energy left, but don't want to participate in the "party" atmosphere at CityWalk. I know that it's my choice, but there could be better alternatives........

We just got back from a long weekend at the Universal Resort complex, and found that after a couple of days- we ended up at Disney when the Universal parks closed.

So although we'll renew our Universal APs, we'll also renew our Disney APs (and we do the cheap Disney AP).

Just a thought.......

I have to agree with you. We have WDW APS and also US/IOA APS. We went to both last October and found ourselves bored to death after 5 days at US! It only took one day to do each park. We used two more days to do each park again and still had the 5th day to use. We just didn't feel like riding the few rides they have another 10 times! I do admit though that they have the best ride in the world right now, Spiderman, and that is worth the price they do charge. US is nice but really doesn't have that much to offer when comparing it to WDW. Believe me, if US thought they had as much to offer as Disney then they certainly would be charging the same.

That would make sense, as Universal only has two parks and Disney has 4. Sea World's annual is much cheaper too, but, that is cause it is only one park.

My sister-in-law finally got through to Paramount. Apparently they are moving offices. So they were not answering their phones for a while.

I have to go pick my tickets up at UPS. I am never home when they try to deliver them.

Can't wait to use them!!!!:bounce:
