Has anyone gotten the "Welcome Home" greeting?

Hi,

I heard a welcome home @ HH in October!

Allison an associate

We have ALWAYS gotten numerous "Welcome Home"s every trip at OKW. Maybe the fact that it was the original DVC and not a hotel first that might make the difference.

We got lot's of welcome homes, the guard, front desk, cleaning staff. It was great

ennisb - Loved your pictures! I get excited just looking at pictures of WDW...Sick, definitely sick! haha

And I can't wait to hear my very own "Welcome Home"

We received several "Welcome Home" our first time at BCV this past July....

Also lots of smiling faces.....We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.

I cannot think of a trip to OKW that we did not hear "Welcome Home!" when we first stop atthe guard gate, I usually say something like "We're home!" to the guard.

Last May my sister & 6-year old niece stayed with us. My niece initially did not know why the bellman said "Welcome Home!" when she first arrived. I explained to her that it was my home when I am on vacation, & she is my guest, so they will say it to her, too. She looked forward to the guards saying it to us each time we drove into OKW :).

I did when we stayed at OKW. I even got a "welcome home" when we stayed on points one night at POR!!!:teeth:

I was a little nervous about this for our first trip home in August. There had been a thread about Welcome Homes last year and it seemed like a lot of people were not getting them at BCV.
We were pleasantly surprised when the guard said it, and then again when we checked in.
Now my husband asks if they will do it the next trip.

We have been a member since 1993 and have ALWAYS gotten a Welcome Home when we checked in. The greatest WH greeting was when it was not expected. We pulled up to the parking lot at the DCL terminal for the Members only cruise and the first thing the security guard said was Welcome Home! My girlfirend and I let out one big scream. We have been on several Disney Cruises and this was the first WH we got.

Didn't notice any for our BWV stay.... and the desk clerk said he worked for Member Services normally and was just filling in for a short staffed BW desk. But I may have missed it. Too anxious to get to the room and too many people of my own to keep track of, so I wasn't paying much attention to anything I didn't need to (like do I have all the room keys, did I hand him the right credit card, are all my children here?)

We received "Welcome Home!" from several different CM's on many different occasions on our last trip to BWV. And I smiled and said "Thanks!" every single time.:wave2:

We just returned from BWV two weeks ago and recieved several "welcome homes" from the front desk and guards. I do like hearing it!! :teeth:

WE have always gotten a "Welcome Home" at OKW and also by the guard and when boarding the Wonder for the Members Cruise but the best is when we bicycled over to OKW from FW one morning and showed our Member Card at the gate and got a hearty "Welcome Home" just for our short morning visit.

The only resort we didn't get our welcome home on arrival at the gate and at check-in was BCV just last May...just a pseudo humorous "You must be DVCers" complaint from the bellhops when the DVC guests behind us pulled in with a Suburban loaded down with enough supplies to last a month! :)

We agree about the front gate guards at OKW being especially conscientious about welcoming people home.

I just got home from a 10 day trip to BWV last night and I got a welcome home every time I drove into the resort from the security guard, from the front desk, from guest services and the valet CMs. I could not even begin to count how many welcome homes I got in 10 days but it was a lot! I have always gotten a welcome home from the front desk when checking into BWV over the years but this past trip everyone kept telling me welcome home everytime I entered the resort, valet parked the car or used guest services. After a few days it became humorous.
The funny thing is, I could not care less about someone saying welcome home, not to offend anyone, but I think the whole welcome home thing is rather corny.

Just to clarify something..... OKW is not the only DVC resort that was not an add on to an existing resort. BWV has always been a DVC resort from day one and not an add on but a very integral and prominent part of the resort. And of course neither will SSR be an add on. At this point, BCV and VWL are the only DVC resorts that are add ons at WDW.

I guess I have taken the Welcome Home for granted. Now I'll appreciate even more!! I cannot remember if we have received it every time or not. We have been members at OKW since 1993. I'll sure notice from now on!

I also love the little brown haired lady guard at the OKW gate. What a beautiful smile!!! I wonder if she knows how popular she is??

True, and I think those are the two places we have heard most complaints about folks not hearing "welcome Home" or other non-DVC type things. I haven't heard many complaints from VWL lately, so maybe they are getting it down now. I suspect BCV will improve too as it is around longer.

We always get a WELCOME HOME when we go home. We hear it from the person at the gate and upon check in. We love to hear it and can't wait to hear WELCOME HOME again.
