Has anyone gotten the "Welcome Home" greeting?

We have stayed at OKW 4 times and BWV 3 times, we got a "welcome home" at check-in everytime. Never got it from the guard at BWV, got it on the last 2 trips at OKW (many times last May).

We have yet to hear welcome home from the BWV people at check in. They have been less than cheerful everytime we have been there (members since 99). The security guards, however are wonderful. We got a "Welcome Home" every time from them.

Not only did we get lots of WHs from the guard this week, we got a "we've been waiting for you, you're late" and he knew our name w/o telling him, but also the check-in cm knew who we were w/o telling him and we thought the guard buzzed him and told him of our arrival. The real reason, we were the last guests to check-in, 1:30 am. So if you want some real attention, show up really late.

Ok, we want to know.............how do the guards know the difference between villa guests and "Inn" guests? Is there a difference on our parking permits? If not, do the inn guests get WHs too? They must, otherwise how do they know????

When we were down in Nov, we got "Welcome Homes" at VWL (our first stop), at AKL, and even the kid who sold drinks at Fantasmic! (I was wearing my DVC shirt.)

We just went home for the first time this December to WLV and the WHs started at the guard gate. It was great.

We got a welcome home at VWL mid Dec. at check in. That was the only time. I would imagine you would get more at OkW though.

Very few times at the BWVs; I could count how many on one hand. At VB EVERY single trip, we have recieved multiple welcome homes.

Just last week we got three welcome homes at the security gate, bellhop/valet and at check-in at VWL. Nice impression since it was our first trip as members.

Have always received "WELCOME HOME" at VWL, I have even checked in at WL and they noted I was a DVC member and received a WH then, only Resort I didn't receive WH was BCV last March. (Sounds like maybe that's changed, hope so)

We have received them at almost every trip. OKW has always been the most often.

I have a DVC tag on the front of my car - so all the security guards say welcome home - even when I am not staying there

the front desk always - but I always give them my confirmation letter from DVC - it has DVC on it - so again they have something telling them.

I generally have my DVC bag so again I am giving hints....

of course the place I got it the most was not a DVC resort - the Polyn on my last few trips has been saying it alot more.....

We have always gotten "Welcome Home" at OKW, both at the gatehouse/security and the front desk, sometimes when we were just asking a question. However, we stayed at BWV for the first time last March and didn't get a Welcome Home once! We did drive over to OKW on 2 occasions for lunch at Olivia's and for the Tuesday morning Member update. Both times we were Welcomed Home!
I think it is partly because at BWV you have the paying guests at the BWInn as well as DVCmembers so until they see your ressie they don't know if you are members.
We did get Welcome Home at HH and VB onn our stays there as well!
Welcome Home is one of my favorite parts of being a DVC member!

We've stayed at DVC resorts 4 times in the last 12 months and always got a Welcome Home at least once - UNTIL last month's trip to VWL. Not one welcome home. I'll live, lol, but I noticed it.

This December was our first trip ever to DVC. We were at the VWL and got lots of Welcome Homes!

We are so pleased with our DVC purchase!

We have stayed at OKW twice, VB twice and the BWV 6 times and have gotten the Welcome Homes on every visit. Both at the guard gates at OKW and the BWV and at check in. At check in at VB. It sure starts your trip off right.
