We are booked on the August 16th cruise category 6 which we gotten pretty cheap when we booked last July through the fabulous Dreams Unlimited. We are paying $4156.31 with transfers and trip insurance and our DU discount of $150.

My question is now my sons friend wants to go and our room only holds 3 and there aren't any category 5's left, we are on a waiting list, do you think we will get one? Has anyone gotten another room from a waiting list? Do you think they will charge us the going rate for the category 5 or will we get whatever the rate was for a category 5 from when we booked?

I really wasn't planning on taking anyone this year because my husband had been out of working last year for 6 months and this year for 2 months due to a hospitalization and it has put a strain on our finances. But my sons girl friend wants to go and her family is willing to pay if it is not too much.

We usually always take someone and we always pay but we just couldn't swing it. I really feel guilty letting them pay but I have no other choice.

Thanks for your imput.

Lyn

I would have to say the chances of the waiting list coming through is probably pretty slim now. You're past the 60 day period when people could have cancelled with no penalty. Also, if a category 5 becomes available, you'll have to pay the going rate, not the upgrade and additional fare. So, that's going to be a pretty hefty difference.
