This is our first time going in Oct. We have been to a few MVMCP over the years. I told my son today that if we book for the Thursday party in Oct. and we get down there and it looks like rain on our date we will still go of course, but if there are tickets still available on Sunday or Tuesday...and the weather is good I might just book one. We had a disappointing party this past Nov. The first parade was delayed, the castle show was cancelled and it was just not a whole lot of fun walking around in the rain.

We did 2 parties on one trip a few years back (2012) because we did one with my parents then another with just us. It was kind of awesome because we could take it slower and didn't feel like we had to run around to see everything. Even if it doesn't look like rain, if it's in your budget, I would go for it.

Yes, but it was at a much lower cost than it is now (5/6 years ago).

No way I can justify the cost now.

My plan of attack this year is to wait until day before/of the party.

My rationale is 1) better idea of the weather and 2) if the party is sold out, I wouldn't want to go anyways. Too crowded for the amount of money you pay.

Just my .02

We did two parties per trip the past few years, the price increase this year knocked us back to one party.

It is nice to have multiple nights to get more done!

OH that is a good way of looking at it. I was going to wait until like a week out but I am scared they will sell out. I don't know what to do. UGH

Us too! We've done 2 parties every trip. Probably not ever again.

We would take the first night and focus on the right side of the park and the parade. Second night the left side of the park and the fireworks :)

We usually do two holiday parties. We did two MNSSHPs and a MVMCP last trip (MVMCP was a bit of disaster, with rain, my son didn't want to wait for parade so we missed it entirely, probably the same night you were there). We opted to do only one this year since the trip is shorter (but I could see us changing our mind too, LOL).

Check the first post in the official MNSSHP thread. Last year, those September parties that sold out did so at most a two or three days before the party. On the other hand, the late October parties that sold out did so two or three weeks before. (I did a slight more detailed analysis somewhere in that thread.) So the quick summary is that you can put off buying for September dates but not October dates.

Of course, last year's results are no guarantee of this year's.

Last year the first sellout (Halloween night) happened Aug. 3, we're now a month later this year and nothing has sold out.

We did 4 one year. It was the only year we were able to do everything we wanted.

Last year we did one. It rained at the start. Things were delayed or cancelled.

This year is our first in a long time missing a party.

Going to two parties is a great idea, if you have the money to do it. Makes them more relaxing and fun! Helps if the weather cooperates too!!

We're going to 2 on our trip this year. I realized that, since we also have an ADR at CRT during the party, we might be missing too much. Especially because we're also doing the Hallowishes Dessert Party. So...two parties, can't wait!

Can't you do CRT on a non-party day/night. That's a very expensive meal eating up very expensive party time.

We planned to do two Christmas parties last year and then the one we were going to add sold out the day before the party and we hadn't gotten tickets yet. There was so much more we wanted to see and do!

This year we are doing 1 Halloween and 1 Christmas in the same trip.

Oh I agree with you, it was poor planning on my part. Now it's too late to try to get an ADR at CRT for any other time. Plus, we picked it for that specific day because it's our 10 year anniversary and DH had proposed at CRT so it has special meaning for us. But this will prob be the last time we go there as the menu has become so lousy... Anyway, I'm hoping between the 2 parties we can see/do all that we really want to, and hoping the weather holds out too.

We usually do 2 a year, but that is only because we love to meet all the party exclusive characters. It's hard to meet all the characters that you want and still see the parade, fireworks and stage show. Then, of course, there is also trick or treating and Haunted Mansion and anything else you want to do. If you don't want to meet many characters I think you can get it all in during one party so long as you have a solid plan.

We have went to two MNSSHP's during vacation. So very glad we did. We wanted a lot of special character photos and with the lines being so long we definitely needed two nights. It helped to reduce the stress and pressure of trying to fit everything into one night. The parties can also be very exhausting standing in all those M&G lines for such long periods, and then standing to watch fireworks and parades. We had a twelve-day trip so staying out later wasn't a problem at all. I planned our days so that we had a couple of mornings that we could sleep-in a bit later than normal. It is expensive depending on the size of your family, but it really is worth the extra cost, especially if you think you can't make it to WDW during September or October again in the near future.

We have three MNSSHP's booked for our upcoming trip! We will be at WDW 14 days/13 nights
With 10 day PH WP&M tickets. I had originally booked 2 parties for our first week then decided to add on another one our last week to end our trip at MK at night. Definently not the most economical way to do it but it's what worked with what we want to do and it was more convenient than buying another 1 day ticket and/or changing our plans. Even with 3 parties, I can't see us waiting in line for over an hour to meet characters. But, never been b4 so maybe we will.

One year it rained very heavy so they gave us a refund for another night. So we did 1.5 parties that year!
