Looking for some info about those who may have done this. We heard you can fish at POR - any feedback? We want to take DD4 - first time fishin' :D Thanks!

Although I didn't take the opportunity to go fishing at POR in June (too rainy :( ) I did see where the fishing hole is. It's on Ole' Man Island next to the pool there. It looked like the fishing area had a wall between it and the rest of the lake/river so I imagine it is stocked and the chances of catching something are pretty good.

They were 12 & 15 and they enjoyed it! It's about $4 or $5 per 1/2 hour and you get a bamboo pole and bait (Ds said it looks like dough balls!) There is a dock on the pond and you just cast out!

The pond is just to one side of the main pool. You can see the water wheel.

Good luck!

We really wanted to but didn't have time.

It is $4.02 with tax for 30mins with a cane fishing pole. It includes bait. The CM told me the best time is 7:30 AM because the smart fish are hungry then. You throw back the fish you catch. there is a wooden pier that you stand on to fish.

My kids really wanted to do this but we never made it that early.
Saw people fishing in the afternoon but they werent catching anything.

We did this 2 years ago over our July 4th holiday. We went mid to late morning and the kids had a blast. My son caught a fish and the others had plenty of "bites". I do believe it is stocked because we could see the fish swimming around. It was alot of fun on a day when we didn't intend to do a park.

Have fun!

We've taken fishing excursions on Seven Seas Lagoon, Bay Lake, and Crescent Lake (click here for a few photos). We have done this many times since my husband is a fishing-junkie (and that is an understatement). We haven't done the Lake Buena Vista fishing excursion yet. Here is some info from the official WDW website regarding it:

We fished at POR last year. It was pretty fun but getting our kids their own poles wasn't such a good idea. 2 of our poles sat unused most of the time because the kids needed so much help.

Our bait was actually worms....so my poor dh had to bait all the hooks and unhook the fish we caught because the rest of us are wimps!

But it was fun and I have cute pictures!
