Has anyone flown into Orlando-Sanford?

Did you rent a car or use a town car/taxi service to Disney? How much did that cost? Our local airport has nonstop service at reasonable rates to Orlando Sanford, we were thinking of using that and either cabbing it, town car, or renting a car from there to Disney. It would be so much cheaper than driving or actually flying direct to MCO. Thanks!

We flew into Sanford last March on Allegiant, from Niagara Falls, ny! We rented a car from Alamo there. I checked them everyday and thought I would never get a deal for a car there, just because it was a smaller airport. I ended up getting a full size for $210.00 for 14 days. I wasn't complaining. I had friends that came for a week with us, flew in with us and left a week earlier. I got them a full size for $120.00 for a week!

You just have to watch them, and check them every morning and see when the rates come down. Loved Sanford, nice small airport, easy to navigate.

It would be cheaper to rent a car than taking a cab or town car each way.

A town car will cost around $200 round trip. A cab will be about $150 to $200.

Thanks everyone! It would be SO much cheaper to fly direct to Sanford than to MCO and have layovers and with small kids I'd rather fly nonstop than be stuck in Atlanta's airport for hours on end.

We used Ed from one of the car services. Very professional/dependable. Will communicate/text with you before your flight and throughout your trip to make sure he gets you to/from the airport in time.

Drives a suburban and supplies carseats. Also allows a grocery stop.

Very friendly. Will use him again.

I loved flying into Sanford!!! But it's no longer an option for us. I have used both a car service as well as rented a car. I like renting the car simply because it's handy to have. The drive is very easy.
