Has anyone ever travelled to WDW with a child who was not their own and no parent?

I am looking into what documents etc... I would need to get to Fly to WDW either out of Toronto or Buffalo, with a child who is not mine. I know I would need her pass port as well as a notarized letter from her parents, but just wondering what else I might need.

You've already got it. All you need is a passport and notarized letter. Travel medical insurance and permission for you to consent to treatment would also be very important....just not legally required.

You can get the info for the letter here http://www.voyage.gc.ca/preparation_information/consent-letter_lettre-consentement-eng

You can also add a few sentences to it that give you the authority to consent to medical treatment.

Many town halls will notarize the letter either for free or for very low cost.

Yep, that was all we needed to cross the border, and the border is the only place that even cared about the fact that she wasn't "ours." Resort check-in and etc., it made no difference.

I do it all the time as my younger brother has been travelling with me/us since I got married ( he was 8 at the time) The 2 documents you mentionned is all you need but I would look into insurance too. See if his parents have travel insurance or such in case the kid gets sick while on vacation. Medical care can be expensive out of pocket.

Thanks! sounds like it isn't as much of a hassle as I thought. Hopefully we can :)

Did it take longer at the border etc... or did they question you longer, cause any disturbance? Mind you that was your younger brother and this child would not be related at all

I'm guessing you're aware of this but you will require seperate medical insurance for the child. I travel with my niece often but always purchase her own insurance because she lives at a different address and the insurance would not cover her if there was a problem.
