Anaheim Castle Inn & Suites?? ...directly accross the street frome DL is what it says....if so...how was it ...total details please

OR how about Anaheim Islander & suites??

OR how about Anaheim Vagabound Executive Inn???

I need a suite or 2 rooms....we have 2 teen boys that will NOT share a bed

thanks for any help.....I have been to WDW many times but as for DL....I'm CLUELESS

The Castle Inn and Suites is in a good location but, in general gets lousy reviews. The Islander in and Suite is an old motel a bit farther away and I have only read a couple of reviews. It seems tobe a place is "Fine if you just need a place to sleep".
The Anaheim Vagabond Executive is also a small older motel that was recently renovated but I have only heard mediocre reviews and is maybe a mile from the parks.
How many people do you need to sleep in how many beds.
The Best Western Park Place Inn hase rooms with two queens and a full size sofa bed. It is a bit more but is an excellent location. The Desert Inn and suites also has rooms with to beds an a pull out sofa and is in an exceleent location. Both these places are closer than the Castle Inn and MUCH closer than the other two.
Here is alink to show you a bit of what it looks like.

Thank you so much for your help....when I saw the Castle Suites picture it looked gorgeous.....why do they do that??....I hate being mislead
now I'm batting 0 for 3...

I need a bed for DH and I ...preferably queen or king and 2 more beds/sofa beds of any size for each of my teenagers.

NO...just a place to stay is NOT what I'm looking for....I like very very nice while on vacation ::yes::
Maybe I should look for 2 adjoining rooms instead

We will have a rental car.

I haven't stayed at the Carousel but it seems to get average to decent reviews and is in a great location. It is a fine enough looking place and they are concietious enough to have little pots of flowers (real) that they keep growing along the railings here and there. :)
If adjoining rooms are an option check out the Howard Johnson Plaza. I have stayed here 5 times and really like it.

The Candy Cane in is also really nice as well and has a good free breakfast. Both of these sometimes run a little more money.

We stayed at the Carousel, there wasn't particularly anything wrong with it, but we wouldn't stay there again as there are much nicer places along that road for not much more cash. It's a motel - is the way my partner describes it. We now stay at the Coast Anaheim which has internal corridors, a great view of the fireworks and very large rooms - general opinion seems to the Candy Cane Inn is best though.

Depending on what you want to spend and what you want from a hotel/motel there are plenty of choices around that area.

We stayed at the Howard Johnsons on Harbor and it was nice. The beds were comfy and the rooms were large enough for a roll away. So you could have two queen beds and a roll away. I'm not sure what the charge is for the roll away, but it might be cheaper than an extra room.

I have also stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites. The rooms were clean and nice sized. They have a few different room layouts. The room we had was a 'parlor suite'. It had a living room area that had a sofa sleeper and it had it's own door to the bedroom area. The bedroom area had two queen beds along with a TV area. The sink was outside the bathroom which made it easy for a family to get ready in the morning. The rooms have microwave and fridge.

I have also stayed at the Carousel Inn. It was clean and ok. We had no problems and for the price we paid we got our money's worth.

These are by no means upscale hotels, but clean places to rest and sleep. If you want more umph you might check out Residence Inn, Embassy Suites, or Hampton Inn. These are a bit further away, a bit more money, but they offer full breakfasts, nicer grounds and prettier rooms.

Let us know if you have other questions. I can tell you two to STAY AWAY from are the Park Vue and the Del Sol. Both of these have had terrible reviews from friends of mine.

Ok so far I'm undecided between HoJO, CandyCane and Embassy Suites. The Candy Cane is the cheapest even for the deluxe room which is a larger room that has room for a rollaway.... quoted $97.00 AAA rate....and a breakfast too.

The Embassy Suites....the new one....is a suite with 2 doubles but has a sofa bed but it costs a bit more.... and is further away. It does have a nice free breakfast. I think if the beds were queen it would be my choice.

The HoJo....like you said was 2 queen and a bit more too...however I had asked about rollaways and was told they don't have them....I'll have to call them back.

I like clean but I also like a little luxury too...afterall its my vacation.....I work all year for it ::yes::

So the hunt goes on
but it is fun!!:teeth:

Did you call HoJo's directly or their 1-800 company reservation number?
They DO have rollaways.. I was planning to use them in May (now BIL decided not to come) the charge is $7 per nite for the rollaway.

Check the HoJo web site for rates, I found that internet rates were cheaper than the AAA rate.

you know what......I have called so many hotels...my head is spinning with info. I do take notes but they're running together....much like my memory. As for the HoJo...I think I called the 800 number.
I have not called back yet but I plan to.

I have found that if I call the actual hotel (rather than the 800 number) I get better rates. Or if I check thier web site.

We go in the off season and can often times get HoJo's for 55.00 or less if I call them directly rather than 85.00 via the 800 number.

What about the Anaheim Sheraton?

I am going April 16-19 (3 nights) with my daughter and her family---we will be getting two rooms. There is a stay 2nights-get one free special on the DL official site for this hotel and the room is averaing about $90 a night. Plus, going thru the Sheraton website I can get the 3 nights at AAA rate for $237.

Has anyone stayed here or know anything about this hotel? Does it have connecting rooms? How close is it to DL? Can we walk or is there a shuttle? We will have cars...driving down from Fresno.

First time for my 5 and 3 year old grandaughters.....I'm really excited.....:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks for any assistance. My daughter has put me in charge of hotel reservations.

I liked the Anaheim Sheraton. It has large room, some of them huge. I beleive many (if not all) of the rooms have been redecorared. I thought they were a bit bland before but recently saw a picture where they were much nicer looking. It is a large Tudor looking place with a slight look of a castle. There are many hallways, walkways and courtyards making it a bit confuing and disconcerting to get around, but the courtyards are pretty with roses, gardens and lawns. The public areas are very nice. I did not try any of the restaurants. The Sheraton is behind Disneyland so is not a very easy walk. It would prbably take 20-30 minutes to walk over to the front gates. You can probably walk over to the Disneyland Parking structure in about 10-15 minutes where you can take a tram but the hotel does have a shuttle to the guest drop off area where it is then a 2 minute walk or less. Be aware that the Sheraton is next to Highway 5 and some rooms, particularly in the annex building, may be noisy. I would call ahead and give them you confirmation number and ask for connecting rooms away from the freeway.
Across the street from the Sheraton is a restauran called the Spaghetti Station. We love the atmosphere and food there.
