Has anyone ever sold part of their DVC?

Due to being disabled and on a tighter budget now I find myself having to sell off my *** pt contract at ***.
I called DVC and they recommended a resale company that I contacted immediately.
This was 3 months ago. I haven't heard from them since. They said that the points would be sold in 3 months or less. I really can't afford to continue to pay on this contract but don't want to give it back since I have paid for 1/2 of it and could really use the money.
They suggested $80 per point but I am going to call them Monday and suggest lowering it so I can get rid of it soon. Not only the monthly payments but the dues are just too much for me now.
they also suggested that I use or sell all the points for this year and I did with the exception of about 35 points.
anyone???

The only timeshare place I've seen that hypes itself as "recommended by Disney" for resales is GMAC. If you're listed with GMAC, I can see why it didn't sell. Their website is so buyer unfriendly. They give no details about a DVC property other than price. You have to give them your personal information so that they can contact you with the number of points, use year, stripped or loaded contract, etc.
DH and I found that we had separately visited their website and thought the same thing: Who needs that much trouble? People like to window shop before they make such a huge purchase. Even their Ebay listings fail to list UY or extra info.
If that's not who you used, then please disreguard all ramblings. If so, I suggest you change companies to one that is more buyer friendly. :)

You can not break up a contract - it's either sell the entire contract or not. If you have leftover points, I'd either bank them (which may make the resale contract a little more attractive) or try to rent them on the Rent/Trade Board.

Good luck with your resale! :)

We've used the Board sponsor The Timeshare Store to sell two of our smaller contracts. One sold within two days, the other took six months. I think if you lower the price just a little you'll find you'll get a few more offers.

The Original Post has been edited to remove the number of points and the home resort, in compliance with our "No For Sale" posts rules.

Timeshare Store is good, but I recommend Shontell Crawford at dvcbyresale.com even higher. You can't go wrong with either. I think the only mistake would be using GMAC - I've hear horror stories about them, but haven't used them personally. I've bought from both Timeshare Store and Shontell, and sold 3 small contracts through Shontell.

Right now with the economy I'd expect things to take longer to sell, but 3 months seems way too long to not have heard something. Good luck!
