Has Anyone Ever Showed Up With An Extra Person?

I have had my ADR's for several months now. Last week we discovered that an old friend of my son's is going to be in Orlando on the last day of our trip. We moved out-of-state right after my son graduated and although my son has seen him recently, the rest of the family hasn't seen him in several years. We have an ADR for Hollywood Brown Derby that night. I called to try and change our ressie from 8 people to 9, but was told nothing was available. I am thinking that maybe we can just show up with nine and hope for the best. Any advice?

Last summer during free dining we actually showed up with four extra people (friends of ours decided to come along and join us after I'd already made the ADR's). So we went from being a party of eight to a party of twelve. We were accomodated at 1900 Park Fare, Boma and believe it or not even LeCellier with little wait.:goodvibes

When we checked in, the gentleman said party of 6 and we so no it was 7. He didn't say anything and we got seating right away

Thanks for the advice. Even if they don't have a table for nine I think I'll just ask them if we can pull in another chair. We have a seven year old and a really skinny 16 year old. We should be able to make it fit. I just hate to give up a HBD ressie. It's my favorite restaurant.

My son decided to join us for Christmas at the last minute and we were able to add him to all of our meals. Everyone said no problem. We never even had to wait any extra time. We went from a party of 4 to a party of 5.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but I have a very similar question. We have a ressie at 'Ohana for a party of 3, and a friend of mine also has a ressie for a party of three (both ADR's are for 5:40). We called to see if we could get an ADR for a party of 6 instead and was told that nothing was available. What do you think are the chances that they might can sit us together once we get there? (or at least near each other?)

We had a similar situation last September. Months prior, I had made ADR's for 8 at Chef Mickey's for dinner and then a 9th family member later decided to join the party. Tried and tried to get new ADR's for 9-- but no luck (it was during free dining so many of the restaurants were fully booked.) I decide to keep my existing ADR and cross my fingers hoping for a bit of 'Disney magic'...

When we checked in that night, the hostess said, "This is for a party of 8, right?" To which I replied, "No, actually, it is a party of 9."

We were very quickly seated (albeit rather 'squishedly') at a big round table (which was probably meant to seat our original 8) without any hesitation.

I do know that I made a decision to 'risk it' and that we could have potentially had a lengthy wait. I would find it really hard to imagine them actually turning you away with only one extra person. I absolutely believe they'd do their best to accomodate your extra guest.

I had this same situation last month when my sister decided to join our party of 6 at the last minute. I tried and tried to change our ADRs but NOTHING was available. At 1900 PF the CM who seated us told us that the one's who make the reservations have to follow what's on their screen and do not really know what goes on at the restaurants. She said the CMs actually at the restaurants will do everything they can to accomodate you. She suggested to call the restaurant directly that morning to explain the situation. For the rest of our ADR's we were seated as a party of 7 every time, no problems.
