Has anyone ever paid by check in advance?

Hey there,

Wondering if anyone has ever paid installments via check for a room-only reservation? I have been paying a chunk every few weeks via check (to the address listed on our reservation confirmation e-mail) so that it is all paid once we get down there.

However, today when I called regarding another reservation, I was shocked to learn that three of my payments were not credited to our account. Even though they have been cashed (dating back to March!). I have been on hold for over an hour talking to multiple people trying to figure this out. I have my statements and confirmation numbers from my bank.

The Disney rep seemed unconcerned and told me it would all be worked out, but I'm worried.

Anyone else go this route? We aren't going until November, but still...argh!

This is one of those annoying accounting things that shouldn't happen but does, unfortunately. Usually they would have to go back to see how your check was posted when it was deposited by Disney. The back of your cancelled check will indicate who cashed it. It should have been posted to your account. It is a good thing you have some time, because it might take them a little while before they solve the mystery. But if they cashed your check then they will eventually post it to your account. :)
 
Uh, no. I don't. For this reason. Well, among others but this would be the main one.
I would much rather pay by credit card and then turn around that very moment and apply a payment to the credit card right out of the checking account. Way fewer errors going to occur

I agree with PP, they'll figure it out. Eventually. Hope you don't gain too many grey hairs in the process. I'm sure it's very stressful. I'd go on and get copies of the checks on the way

Or, at least, errors are likely mine and not theirs. :)
 
We did that for years but when I got the Disney Visa card I started making my monthly payments on the card to get the points. I never had a problem with a check payment not being credited to my account, and I'm confident Disney will get the problem resolved! Best of Luck!
