has anyone ever ordered something from the lunch menu at dinner?

We are going in JAnuary and we are on the dining plan, I'm not a big meat eater, but my husband loves steak. Last year when we went to Le Cellier for lunch he had steak and I had the cheesburger. I noticed on the dinner menu that the cheeseburger is not listed there, will I be allowed to order the cheeseburger or will we have to go during lunch hours? Thanks

My sister ordered a hamburger at Sci-Fi for dinner even though it wasn't on the menu for dinner. It was on the kid's menu though, so I don't know if that changes things.

I wonder if there is a number to call to ask or if disney dining would know?

here is the direct number for lecellier... i'm sure someone there could answer your question... 407-560-7292

I'm sure it depends on the restaurant but when we went to 50's Prime Time, I commented on how good the sandwich looked a table over and our waiter was quick to offer to let me order off of the lunch menu even though it was early dinner time. So ask for sure!

I would ask @ the restaurant. They're usually pretty willing to please.

If it's important to you I would definately call and ask first. I would think the earlier you make your dinner ADR's the better your chances but I wouldn't assume anything without checking.

Yes, make sure the speak to someone at the restaurant. I had read so much on how accommodating Disney restaurants were, so I had my hopes up for the Cobb Salad at Fulton's (only on their lunch menu, but we can only go for dinner). I spoke to the CMs there, and they said that they couldn't let me order the Cobb Salad for Dinner because of some restaurant policy. :guilty:

How bout getting a couple of appetizers instead? At Le Cellier, you should try the grilled beef tenderloin kebab. It's really delicious and there are only 3 cubes of meat, so you won't get that big hunk of meat. I can fill up at LC just on appetizers and pretzel bread.

It's an alternative if the restaurant can't make you the cheeseburger.

I'm sorry but they will not let you get a burger at dinner time except a child's burger which is not a "steak" burger ...it's just like all the other burgers at the cs restaurants.

My experience has been that Disney's full-service restaurant chefs are incredibly accommodating to all special requests, for anything for which they have the ingredients on-hand (and the knowledge to prepare, of course :)), whether it be something from a different menu, or something not even on the menu. Beware, though, that at dinner they may elect to charge you a price more in line with other dinner menu items, rather than the lunch price.

Le Cellier is different from other restaurants in that they keep their refrigerator away from the restaurant, since the restaurant is so small, so they can't offer lunches at dinner, vice versa. This is what we've been told when we've tried to order lunch meals for dinner, or dinner meals for lunch.

Our experience has been that any WDW restaurant can make you an adult burger at an adult price ($10.95 or more). Fultons is not a WDW restaurant so I don't think they play by the same rules. I think most restaurants are prepared to make burgers for finicky members of the party (who are not on the kids menu) at any time. As for any other lunch menu item--no guarantees.

One of the main reasons you might not be able to is that a lot of the ingredients for the lunch items are thrown out after lunch is over. Of course it depends on the actual menu items in question.

Fooey! I've worked there and yes it's a VERY small kitchen, but everything is right there. It sounds like they were just trying to give you a reason that they couldn't accomadate you. But like I said in my above post, a lot of the menu items get tossed when that meal period is over.

WDW is very good about letting you order what you want. If you are on the meal plan and want a kid's meal but are willing to use your adult credit to pay for it, they'll be more than happy to let you. I do it all the time.

Trying to order an adult meal with a kid credit would be another story, I'm sure.

Thanks for letting me know about that, then. We went at lunch and my fiance wanted a mushroom filet, but that's what they had told us.

I know about giving people excuses to placate them, though. :)

My son ordered a burger at Sci Fi at dinner. It was so hard and dry that we decided it might have been leftover from lunch!

That is too funny! We had the same experience at the Sci-Fi. You might as well bring a cheeseburger and fries from home and order a drink. That way you'd get a cold, hard meal for free!
