Has anyone ever done?

Dw and I are planning our Feb. 2005 2 week trip to disney, driving from Ct. we have two DD's age 17 and 14 and what where wondering is if any of you have ever done a wirldwind tour of all 7 dvc resorts and say stay ay at each resort 1 or 2 nights each. Are we crazy for even attempting this kind of vacation! Here is a sample of what we have come up with!

If I did that how would I convince my DH that we need to keep going back until we have tried them all . He might want to take a year off and go somewhere else.

It would be really difficult for me to relax and enjoy my vacation with all that packing and checking in. I would stay at HH on the way down and maybe pick 2 resorts to split the stay up when I was there. But that's just me! It will be fun, whatever you decide.

Or VB on the way down, do a comando drive to Florida, probably 2-3 nights there, then over to WDW, I would try VWL and BCV or BWV, or OKW/SSR, then on the return do HH at least 2 nights, then comando drive back, since you have 3 drivers, the driving may not be a problem, its doable, if I had 2 weeks, this is what I would probably do.

We did OKW on the wknds - points are cheaper - and BCV during the week...we didn't mind the packing, but then again, we weren't commando theme parking either...

I'd try it your way - if you think it would be fun, and not a stress...but I think I would do 3 nights at a resort, and then switch, skip either BWV (you're already staying at BCV) or switch the OKW/SSR to just one of them...

i would do hhi vb and a few other resorts like tomi said, unless you pack a suitcase for each leg of your trip.

we usually move at least 2 or 3 times during our stay and that is just how it works out.

but the only problem is the checking in and out, it takes up some time and if you dont mind not having a room from 11am to 4 pm then go for it.

last aug we decide to go the last min. and then family joined in so when i made ressies we had to move from the bcv, bwv,wlv,bcv,bc
and some stays were 2 or 3 nights and some 1 night, i felt like a ball bounce from one resort to another and back again, i didnt know if i was checking in or checking out, especially on points and no charges to the room, you dont get a bill when checking out, lol.lol i finally had to charge something to get a bill so i know it was time to move on to the next resort. the nice part was we had disney ship the luggage back and forth.

you will enjoy the marathon then, i think the HHI and VB and wdw tour sounds like a lot of fun, i may even try that, but add a quick cruise in there, thanks for the idea!

I would stay at HH or VB for at least an additional day. Maybe skip VB this time ( I can't believe I just said that)

You may want to consider the weather. Will it be nicer at HH or VB in February? Probably VB.


At the end, I would stay at the resorts 3 nights each and then do the missed resort next time.

This is only my opinion. If you are comfortable with your schedule, then stick with it.

Thanks to all have replied so far! My wife came up with this idea because evertime we get back she always says " I wish we woulld of stayed at BCV or VWL or BWV a couple of nights" I don't know if this would cure the problem or if it would only create another problem? " I wish we would of stayed at VWL more nights or SSR more nights!

The good side is that you'll have a lot of variety and get a chance to compare every resort at about the same time of year. Fun!

The bad side is that once you've done it, you've done it. From then on the mystery is gone. You've gobbled up resort exploration that could have been spread out over several years, like tasting every chocolate in the box at your first sitting. Boo!

I asked my family, and they said they'd rather spend a week at each resort spread out over several years. Hey, it's a matter of taste. Aha!

I think I would stay two nights at HH, and skip VB. With your original schedule, what would you do if your room wasn't ready until 4:00 pm? You're total time with a room would be around 16 hours (including sleep!). It wouldn't be enough time for us to really enjoy the resort.

We try to do '2' resorts each visit, but we want to stay at ALL the resort at some point (not just the DVC).

I had tried to talk DH into doing this at Disneyland next month. We are using points and staying 3 nights at the Disneyland Hotel, and I wanted to stay one night at each. He said to 'pick one' any one and that is where we would stay rolleyes: ). So I picked the Disneyland Hotel (seemed the most 'kid friendly').

Since you are going to be there for 2 weeks, I think you can get in more than we do. I would skip HH because it will be cold when you are there.

I would pick 1 resort for when you get to the parks. Then got to VB in the middle of your trip (over the weekend, when the parks are the most crowded and you are ready for a break). Then go back to WDW and pick another resort.

That will let you try 3 resorts. When you go to WDW during a warmer time of the year, plan to stop at HH at least 2 nights. It is very nice.

I would probably skip VB on the way down, and divide my time at WDW between 2 of the resorts. Maybe BCV and VWL...then you're kind of at 2 opposite ends of "the world" during your trip. Next trip I'd do BWV and SSR, next trip I'd do VB and OKW, or something along those lines.

In truth, there's not a huge difference in amenities or location between BCV and BWV (and even the themeing is beachy/seashorey, so that's not even all that different really), so you could probably choose to stay at one or the other of those this trip.

Tom in CT-- You are out of your mind. First big problem is getting the reservations you want during the most popular time of the year down their President's Week. Now you also have the major problem of HH to VB and VB to WDW if it falls on any day near the Daytona 500 then it is lights out. You could be stuck in a really bad traffic jam. Now I live in CT and nearly always drive FL. CT to HH is a long drive, so you will get into HH late the first day, meaning only one day at HH and your off to OKW. HH to OKW is no short ride either. So you may arrive at OKW late into your first day there after that you will have to packing and arriving at DVC resorts at WDW which means you have to check-in and your room will never be ready because it is the 3rd most busy time of the year down there. So you are looking at 4 o'clock thus loosing from 10 am to 4 PM on everyday you switch with no room, you wil not have a room for 6 hours on every arrival day. You asked are you crazy, yes, you are ready to be put on ice. Let me give you a little advice, things may look easy on paper, but they are not in realy life. You have plenty of time to enjoy all the resorts if you wish, just remember to enjoy them. Christmas, 4th of July, then President's Week are the 3 most busy times of year down there. If you to stay in one DVC one week then another the 2nd week go ahead otherwise forget it. Have you ever driven from CT to Florida??? Oh, I made a mistake, HH to VB well that is no better.

Oh what an adventure! Can I come? Ha! Sounds like so much fun but be ready to "drop" when you come back to CT!

It never amazes me that we never ever get tired of going to any resort whether it's a DVC or other resort at WDW! Each resort has it's own feeling of wonderful tropical relaxation and it's still always sad to come home, especially in the wintertime. We love not knowing exactly which room we will be staying in as well. Every stay is different, whether it's with our adult children, ourselves, different family members or staying in a studio, one bedroom or two bedroom. With every stay there are so many good memories. This is what gets us thru all the tough times of life...remembering how blessed we are to be able to come to such wonderful accommodations.

So, if you think you can do it by all means go for it. Enjoy the pools & lovely resort while waiting for your room to be ready. It's a lovely adventure! Please write us all about your wonderful experiences when you get back from your vacation!

If you want to do it to say you "did it" -- then go for it. (Sort of like drinking around the world at Epcot). However, I agree that only one night at HHI and/or Vero will not let you really get an idea of either resort. You really need a full day to explore what they offer.
