We arrive Saturday and it is my son's ninth birthday. We have reservations for Crystal Palace that night. We have never eaten there. Should I pre order a cake or can you not do that at a buffet. Has anyone ever celebrated a Bday at Crystal Palace!:confused3

Several times :) They've always brought us our a cupcake with a candle and card!

Celebrate my son's 8th birthday two weeks ago; cupcake and a signed card from Pooh and friends - he loved the card. Great way to start his birthday at MK.

We celebrated my birthday there in 2009. My family had pre-ordered a cake, and while cute, it was a total waste of money. We were stuffed from the buffet, and the free cupcake would have been just as nice. I was given a cupcake at almost every table service meal for the whole week, I think (of course that was also the birthday promo year).

I wouldn't bother with a cake unless there are a lot of you and you all want some. And since you'll be at a buffet you can all have dessert anyway!
Like the other posters have said, tell them you're celebrating a birthday and he will get a cupcake and card signed by the characters. We always go to Disney for my son's birthday and to be honest, I note that we're celebrating his birthday on all of our ADRs...most places give cupcakes.

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at The Crystal Palace a few years ago. They do a great job! The servers all sang happy birthday to him. He had a birthday cupcake and card from the characters. Very fun ... even for a grown up! Well, sort of a grown up ;)

While we did not celebrate a birthday at CP, we did have our engagement noted on our ADR (Chris in the AKL-CL had noted the engagement on all of our ADR's after I proposed to her on our last trip). Like many others, we were treated with 2 cupcakes and a card signed by the characters.
