Has anyone ever bought more points than they need?

When I saw this post I thought how could that be possible-"Too many points!! What do they mean by that absurd question?"

After I read the original poster, PrincessMom, had not yet purchased I realized she did not suffer from "INEEDMOREPOINTSITIS", (for which there is no cure).

Honestly, it is the best thing we ever did. You can always find a way to use your "extra" points, even if you rent them.

I think Disney pours something in the soda that you drink from your refillable mugs on each trip. It makes you feel like you need more points.

Beware- It's potent stuff!

I'am starting to think now we have to many points. We have 5 Contracts. We added on with plans on going on the cruise every other year which has not happened in the last two. Our kids are young and when they grow up we wanted them to be able to use the points also. We are a family of Five. Have Plans Easter Week 3 Nights BCV 2 bedroom and 4 nights AKL in 2 Rooms. Going in July 4 nights WLV 4 nights OKW and 4 Nights VB and we will still be banking 720 points into next year. We go 3 weeks to WDW a year. Not sorry we brought the number of points but just starting to wonder.

Biermugg George--I wonder if you mind sharing how many points you own altogether. I am in the middle of deciding on adding points to an add-on, and I am unsure if this will remain our vacation of choice for the next forty years.

Every time I add up how much money I have actually spent on this, I start to think of what else could be done with it.

Although several years ago I thought it would be unthinkable to have too many points, now I see it is possible. We are a family of 3...our son is 10. He is not overly crazy about Disney. We have 450 points. This year we will take a Mediterranean cruise and a Caribbean cruise (did DCL 3x...that's enough, these are Royal Caribbean.). We did use points for a trade for a week at Fords Colony in Williamsburg for this summer. The rest we gave to family. The only thing that keeps me from selling some is I remember a post from a long time ago...the person said when they retired they could spend the entire month of January in an OKW studio! What a nice way to be a snowbird!!!!
