Has anyone ever been told their 10yr old can't order from the kids menu?

We had no problems at all last year on the DP - at all buffets she was an adult and at TS she ordered off the kid's menu. Just wondering if this has changed? We then paid OOP for her meals. I would hate to waste a whole dining credit on her little bird appetite. I would just share a meal with her then, but because of her non adventurous palate we would be pretty limited.

I can't imagine this would be a problem.
My niece joined us for dinner at California Grill, and she is so unbelievably picky that she refused to order anything off the menu (it's actually bordering on pathological, actually.... she didn't know what Pecorino was and so refused to order even flatbread, even after we explained it to her). She requested a kid's menu and chose something off of that.
Her age..... 15. :sad2:

interest to allow this. The kids' meals have lower food cost. Even if the food cost is the same, I couldn't see them declining the request.

No problem at all. My 12 year old ordered off the kids menu when she liked that food best; my 15 year old even did it once or twice.

Funny...we were at the Plaza and DD15 got an adult cheeseburger that was too big for her to finish. We were kidding her that she should have ordered the two mini-burgers that were on the kids menu. Then we noticed that a girl at the next table (who had to be at least 18) had ordered the kids' mini burgers.

Disney is really NOT in the business of saying no to their guests.

Nov. 19-28, my DD 13 ordered off the kids menu/adult menu 50/50. The only thing I will say is that they (Disney) knew ahead of time that we were not on the DDP.

1) They asked when I made ADRs (a term not one single CM recognized I will note...) 2) They asked when we arrived at the podium for the reservation 3) The server asked if we were on the DDP. But they were very accomodating and I imagine that it simply swon't be a problem. All they can do is say no anyway.

FYI it is no longer referred to as an ADR by Disney but rather P.S. or a Priority Seating. ADR is more of an unofficial term.

They went back to PS? Isn't that what it used to be?

My older kids often eat off the kids menu in non-buffet places. No problem whatsover.

WELL... I am a 24 year old that went during free dining. The DDP would never be cost effective for me bc I have very simple taste. Lol. I ordered off the childrens menu at a lot of restraunts, including the castle, and I even got a children's meal at the Aloha show. No one ever told me I couldn't, so I would hope your daughter would be ok too.

I'm 21 and never had a problem ordering from the kids menu at a TS. I'm a picky eater and sometimes I can't find anything I like on the regular menu. I do it most often at Whispering Canyon Cafe. My dad and BF love it there, and I've come to love their kids menu.

I had thought it went FROM PS to ADR? :confused3

It did - you are correct.

It was found that guests liked the word "reservation", even though it really isn't a reservation in the traditional sense. hence the new name (in 2005, I think it was?) - Advance Dining Reservation. The change was in name only - operationally, nothing was intended to change.
