Has anyone ever been "BOOed"?

I sent my DD's (3rd and 6th grade) to school today with two bags each to see if they can secretly "Ghost" a couple of their teachers. My oldest is worried her teacher will immediately ask "who did it" and she'll get in trouble. I think they'll have a tough time succeeding without being seen! Maybe they'll get lucky!

How funny you should post this! I got BOO'd today!!! I'd never heard of this before, but can't wait to pass it on to someone else!

What a great idea!

It's not too late!

No, but we left our infant son in his car seat on our dear neighbors' porch. We rang the doorbell and hid. They still talk about it 10 years later. He was the youngest trick-or-treater they ever had.

I need to start this in our neighborhood, but I guess it is too late this year.

Holly, you're right. I'm off now to photocopy the sheets. I may do several houses so that it gets off successfully.

How big are the treat bags?

Lori

My neighborhood started this last year, and we were "Ghosted" (that's what we call it ;)) 3 times! And just last night we were Ghosted for the first time this year. This is what our note says, it's just a tad different than yours. :)

Boo!

The Phantom ghost has come around,
To leave some goodies I see you have found.
Since the ghost has gotten you,
Please read closely for what you must do.

First, post this ghost where it can be seen,
On a door or window until Halloween.
Then no other ghost will visit you again,
Be sure to participate-it will make you grin!

Next, please do your part,
You only have one day,
So everyone can play.

Make two treats, two ghosts and two notes like this,
And take them to two families that may have been missed.
Deliver after dark when there's barely a light...
Ring the doorbell and run, then stay out of sight!

And last but not least, have fun and try not to be seen...
And share in the spirit of Halloween!!!

Now, we have to decide who to Ghost tonight?............:smooth:

We've been boo'ing on our neighborhood for about 5 years now. It's always been a lot of fun!

:sunny:

We were visted by the Phantom Ghost on Wed. night. So yesterday I made a run to the Dollar Store so my 8yr old DD could "ghost" 3 people last night. We went out about 8:00 pm and did 3 girls from her bus stop. Our neighborhood does this every year and it is alot of fun. Its like getting permission to play "Ding, Dong, Ditch"

The Dollar Tree has some cute "Glow in The Dark" Ghost buckets.

I started hearing about this in our area just last year. Our neighborhood doesn't seem to be doing it but it's happening in other areas around us. I wish that I knew the neighbors a bit better.

Thank you so much for this idea. My kids and I are going "boo"ing tonight after their hockey games. I have never seen this in our area.

Okay, I've printed my material and made my obligatory trip to Dollar Tree. I think we are ready! Now, who do we BOO first.:scratchin

Lori

No but my boss was today! When she came in she had that notice on her desk with a bag of candy!

We just got back. My kids really enjoyed Booing their friends. This is either going to fly or die. I hope we get Booed this week or my kids will be disappointed. Thanks Holly!

One of my dearest friends lives about 20 minutes from me and she just got Boo'd for the first time (she has a two year old). She immediately called me b/c she thought that we had done it! :teeth: I wish we had, but we didn't! She was so tickled to get boo'd as she had never heard of it before!

What a cool idea! Now I can take the boys out tonight for a little fun.

So glad you reminded me!

Last year we were ghosted by the neighborhood phantom AND the church group phantom.

Two different ghosts with slightly different poems - fun!

I have not seen any sign of ghosting this year :(

It may be a tad late... but we are going to start it tonight!

I know what you mean pirateofthecarolinas - it would be sad to start it and not get a visit from the phantom yourself.

Booing has been going around our neighborhood for several years now. We have been booed several times already this year, though I thought that once you put the Boo sign up you weren't suppose to be booed again. We booed two friends last week, but the DS9 went out with a couple of friends and booed a few more neighbors. I like the poem that was posted here. we had a great one the first year we were booed but I can't find it now. Anyway it is a lot of fun and the kids really look foward to it every year. Jay
