We were recently on the DCL Merrytime Cruise on the Wonder. As we chatted with Edwardo, the DVC person on the ship, I mentioned that we have stayed in all DVC resorts, and we own at 8 of them. Of course he asked which one we liked best, and well, we had no answer. I can no longer say VWL, it is losing its appeal, although DH still said that. I loved Aulani so much, but if I can only go every 2 years, it cannot be my favorite! I like vacations too much. I'm sort of "like the one I am at the best!"

So, have you stayed in all of them? Which one do you like best?

The only one missing from our list is HHI. In many ways I'm like you - the one I'm at is the best! We really do like all of them for various reasons and our best is more categories than an overall winner I think. Aulani - it's the best DVC resort IMO. VGC - it's the best overall for location, room design, quality. I hope there is still the serenity to love at VWL after it is done - it's a big worry of mine. But the resort common areas will continue to be the best for pure ambiance. And the remaining resorts all have their positives too.

We have stayed at all of them and have many favorites for lots of different reasons. I agree with the above post that Aulani is spectacular and should be a "must try" for everyone. Grand California is wonderful when visiting at Disneyland. Personally, I like the studios at Beach Club if going to Epcot, Grand Floridian if going to the Magic Kingdom, Savanna view at Jambo or Kidani if I want to see animals, and Old Key West if traveling with more people than just my husband and myself because of the room. OKW has been our home resort for many years and is always "home" to us, but I have to say I have never been disappointed in any resort I have stayed in. Maybe I am just easy to please :).

As long as they keep building new resorts it's hard to keep up with staying at all of them. We had just gotten to that point when they opened VGF & the Poly. We have not stayed at those 2 yet….but the Poly is our resort to try for next summer. Since we love to resort hop from trip to trip we'll eventually get to VGF. It doesn't look like "our style" so we haven't been in a hurry to blow points there. But we really loved Aulani and hope to return again once DS finishes college (no more splurge vacations until then). I thought it was a spectacular resort even tho we can't afford the airfare but once every blue moon. We also really enjoyed the VGC at DL and didn't get enough time there as we only stopped for 3 nights on our way to Aulani. I'm sort of thinking that maybe we should consider a week there for 2017 rather than WDW. We could do a whole So. CA trip from there with a few park days thrown in. With the recent AP structure changes & price increases this year along with the huge price increase on the TIW I'm sort of feeling less love for the world at the moment. Although tix at DL are not cheap either - it just might be time to take a year off. :rolleyes2 At WDW we really enjoy BCV, AKV Jambo and VWL (although I'm with Kat4 - not sure about all the changes coming over there). While it is definitely hard to choose a true "favorite" resort we can definitely tell you which one is our LEAST favorite. :ssst:

We have stayed in 11 of the 13 DVC resorts (own 3) and I can't believe that one of them we haven't stayed at is BCV. It just has never worked out for us to stay there. The other resort we haven't stayed at was VB. We had plans to stay there before a cruise but our plans changed and we have never returned for various reasons. Someday we will check them out. I have a couple of DVC resorts that just don't grab me but with the others I love them when I stay at them. When I think of the resorts we stay at in the last year SSR, BLT, PVB, and AKV, every time one of us would say to the other, "Why don't we stay here more often?" And at each resort we vow to do so, but next trip we feel the same about the next DVC resort.

We have stayed at all the East Coast resorts except VGF. We have found something to like at every resort, we choose which resort for each trip based on what we intend to do that stay.
