Has anyone else noticed this?

Now I'm guessing its because many guests have made it known that they are unhappy that the DDP got rid of apps quite some time ago (although now you can sub certain things).

At each TS restaurant I went to on my recent trip I received some form of complimentary bread.
At Boatwright's it was corn bread with butter.
At Skipper Canteen it was bread with some kind of honey dipping sauce.
At Le Cellier it was pretzel, sourdough, and wheat rolls with butter.

Just curious if this is the new norm for all TS restaurants? (This was the first time eating at all 3 of those restaurants so maybe these restaurants have always served bread?)

I think that is what has always been served.

Could you tell me what the TS allowed you to Substitute? We will be there next week. Thanks

I did not sub anything.
I just know that its an option at some restaurants now.

Le Cellier has offered the bread basket for quite a while now (at least since 2010, probably earlier than that, but that's when my current digital photo archive starts). Most of the Signature restaurants offer some type of bread service.

I haven't really noticed this, but now that I think of it perhaps it is true. I can't think of a place that doesn't serve a little something extra with your meal.

Here are my favorites:

Chips and salsa at La Hacienda
The lovely cold bar of salads, fish, and cheeses at Akershus dinner
The absolutely fabulous bread service at Cali Grill

Not to mention all the buffets with their app, soup, salad, and bread offerings. My favorite of these is Biergarten for the pretzel bread and their salads.

I went over Christmas and most restaurants allowed me to sub my dessert with an appetizer. I think every place allows it, you just have to ask in the beginning and see what is available. It will be a limited selection of the appetizer/salads that the restaurant currently offers.
