Every month it seems like they screw something else up!
My rx coverage requires me to use Medco for any longterm medications (I get 3x a year at a brick and mortar before they deny coverage). Otherwise, I'd be using my local CVS for everything.
Every month I run into a different problem. It's almost like they redo the way they process meds each month - I never know what to expect
This month, I called 1 week out from needing my next injection. For the last 6 months, they have processed the refill same day and ship it overnight within 2 business days so this is not unusual.
They said it showed I needed an authorization from the doc to refill it this time. They fax it over to GI and get it all done in 2 business days. Then they send the refill to billing. They won't take my copay when I request the refill because they need authorization so she says they will call once it's in. Days go by, I don't hear anything.
I miss my next injection date because it's still being processed. I call again to check status and she tells me it's in billing and waiting on payment! I ask why no one has called me for payment.
She says they may just have not gotten to me yet but does takes my money and then sends it to the pharmacy. Tells me I'll get a call in an hour to set up delivery.
The next day I call them back to set up delivery since I never got a call.
They overnight it, I get it yesterday. Open it (6 days late now) and it's the wrong medication. I almost burst into tears.
I call them today, talk to the pharmacist, but she says we can't do anything until Monday. I have to start all over again then...
Actually, I'm going to call my nurse. She HATES dealing with Medco speciality pharmacy, says they are a pain in the rear, and I know she'll call them or have my GI call them himself and get me my med.
In the meantime, my body is revolting against me for being now a week overdue. I need the medication to stay healthy. Why do they treat me like I'm trying to renew a magazine subscription - so casually and flippantly? Not once did they say 'we're sorry for the delay' or 'I'm sorry they didn't call you.' I dunno, as I'm writhing in pain it might make me feel a little better to hear a canned apology from the company controlling my pain at this point.
Does anyone else use Accredo and do you have issues with them?
