Has anyone eaten at Coco's restaurant on Katella? Is it any good? To me the online menu looks like another Mimi's type of restaurant. One person I talked to at work said I had to try it out, but I dont think I have ever heard anyone talk about it on the Disboards before. Is this place within walking distance to the park?

A couple of years ago I had the lobster omelet. I have to say it was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. I know it was a seasonal dish. It was a clean restaurant, the service was very good ( I only ate there once though), and wow my meal was so good. I would go back there again in a minute. Worth a try. I do hate to recommend a restaurant as we all have different tastes.

We have a few Coco's around here, but I haven't eaten there in years. From what I remember I would compare it to Mimi's.

Google maps says that from DTD to the one on Katella it's 0.9 miles which is walkable IMO.

Ive eaten at Coco's before...not the one in anaheim tho....they are a tossup between mimi's, denny's and ihop...their pies are pretty good tho...personally, I would take Mimi's over them any time...

Coco's is more like Denny's/Carrow's. Mimi's Cafe is slightly better in terms of quality of food. Coco's is more diner-ish.

We had a couple of Coco's here in my city, but they all closed down.
The thing I remember most about Coco's is their pies -- excellent.

We ate there a few times in Jan when in town for the Tink. It was good food and good service. Kind of had a Dennys or IHOP feel to me. I'd eat there again if staying by it (we were at the BWStvalls).

Its been over 10 years since I've eaten there. Its very much like a Dennys. Nothing special, or at least it wasnt at that time. You could walk there from the parks, but its a ways. You'd want to go thru downtown disney, turn left and go past the paradise pier hotel, and down to the corner. Personally, I'd recomend Mimi's instead. About the same distance, and better food. And, you can sign up for email coupons from Mimi's. They have some great take out family style meals if you'd like to get to go and eat at your hotel.

Everyone I know replaces the two "o"s in their name with "a"s.

Coco's, Denny's, Carrow's, Mimi's... it's like a festival of crap!

We ate at that Coco's a couple of times last year. We enjoyed it so much the first night we went back another night. We had some issues with our food the second time but our server & the manager went above & beyond to compensate us. I would definitely recommend trying it. They run some great specials. As far as comparing it to Mimi's I would say Mimi's is slightly better quality and slightly higher priced but there really was nothing wrong with the food at Coco's for the price.

I have eaten at that Coco's on many occasions due to various game conventions and disney trips i've gone on over the last few years. That one is an anomaly compared to ones in the bay area due to the fact the food is actually decent for a diner and service is pretty good as well. It's really the only Coco's i'd eat at. Also they own Carrows so it's now one in the same, they just retained the carrows name for those that are still around. So yea in a nutshell it's decent and you won't die from it, but personally I prefer the little mom and pop cafe a couple blocks down, wish I could remember it for the life of me. It has an ART stop right outside of it on Katella as well.

I ate there a couple times when we were staying at BWS and I thought it was ok. I agree with the comparison to Denny's.

We ate there a few years back. Very good veggie burgers and chocolate cake. We were staying at Anabella so it was closeby!

Besides the Coco's near my dads in Concord, Ca I love, love, love the Coco's in Anaheim (near the BW Stovalls) :thumbsup2
I have never ate anything but breakfast there though. I think it is WAYYY better than any Denny's I have ever had. and I would put it in the I Hop catergory.
Just my opinion though :goodvibes

Thanks for all your replies. I've never eaten at any other Coco locations so I had no idea what it was like. The menu does look very much like a Mimi's menu. I LOVE Mimis... especially their honey bran muffins  But I think I am willing to give Coco's a shot. I like trying something different. Now everyone has got me curious about the pie. :cloud9:

We ate at Coco's quite a few times on one of our last trips. Prices were good, food was good, service was good. We even opted to pay for breakfast one morning there when the free continental at our hotel was crazy busy (staying at the Stovalls Inn). Definately walkable for us. We walked back & forth from hotel to park the entire time we were there. :thumbsup2 We prefer Mimi's though.

Had the worst experience ever at Cocos... First we were a group of 8 and out of our orders only 2 were right. 2 of the others were not what we ordered and the other 4 plates came out frozen. Literally the food was still frozen solid. It was so gross. The waitress was super nice and made it clear that it was not the first time this happened. Her manager came over soon after and instead of apologizing, he told us we were wrong. This ended with an argument and after leaving, a call to their corporate offices. Maybe they war just too overwhelmed that day or something, but my family will never visit there again. :(
