Has anyone driven from NE Mississippi to DW?

Hi All, I am planning our 1st ever DW trip for the end of September. This is a celebration of a 100 lb. weight loss each for my daughter and I. We are so excited about this trip. Most people would probably would rather take a trip to Hawaii or somewhere more exotic, but not us. We want a trip to DW as our reward.

So my question is has anyone here driven from NE Mississippi to DW? What route did you take, and what time frame did it require? Anything along the way that are must sees or dos? I have googlemapped this but I am asking for real time experiences.
