Has anyone driven from Cleveland to WDW?

Wondering who has driven from Cleveland to WDW and what route you took. I don't plan on driving straight thru...any good locations to spend the night?

We have driven from Canton to Disney many times. 77-26-95-4 is definitely the way to go. Do not even consider 71-75-Fla Turnpike. Too much traffic. Figure about 17 hours.

We have stopped in Columbia, SC for overnights, it is about halfway there. Many nice hotels line the interstate there. The Charlotte outskirts also offer good clean affordable lodging.

Charlotte and Jacksonville would be areas to avoid during rush hour. The WV Turnpike is a challenging drive, just make sure you are awake and alert. The road is good, just hilly with many sharp curves.

We now live in KY and take 75 all the way.

we drive from the East Side of Cleveland with our family of 6. Takes about 17 hours (we don't really stop much). We take 77 south to 95 south.

I never did the drive, but I mapped it out when I lived in Cleveland Heights and THOUGHT I was going to drive to WDW. My route back then agrees with taximom's choice, I-77 to I-95.

We've done it a few times. The last time we drove to Charlotte and stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Huntersville. It was nice with lots of restaurants nearby. It's about 1/2 way to WDW. Did the same thing on the way back, I think. On another trip, we left after work, drove to Beckely, WV and stayed at the Microtel and drove to Kingsland, Ga the next night. Got up extra early and drove to WDW the next morning.

It's not a bad drive and fairly easy to do in 2 days. We didn't kill ourselves. the roads are fine and the scenery is pretty in Va and W. Va.
