has anyone done trip this way? ...mvmcp

we are going next year around holiday time ( nov29th- dec 2nd)
set in stone will be a package like silver plan( if one is made for 2005) so i was playing with ideas, since we are there such a short time.....thinking of arriving mid morning ( flying from WI) i am aware our room most likey wont be ready...but wanted to start using our wishes right away for lunch and etc....pretty much just enjoy the CR then getting tickets( in advance) to MVMCP that evening. i wanted to do 2 days at MK. so thinking of making the mvmcp our " first" day ( night really) has anyone done this? did it wear your children out for the rest of the trip?
we would fly a 7:30am flight, which means the kids would be up already at 5am that morning........then be up so late at the MVMCP.
anyone have any opinions about if that is too long of a day for kids? they are not very small, ages 14 and 6 when we go, but i dont want to wear them out the first day.

The question is...Can you handle it? I think with all the excitment...the kids will have a ball. Such a short time, prioritize...it'll all work out. I've never personally done it but if I had such a short time I'd plan it out like you did.

Hi Misty I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. Doing MVMCP the first night, I am afraid of the same thing as well, but when we are in Disney we are always so excited I think it may be ok. if we do MK the first night then we can allow for other things on other nights such as fantasmic and Osborne lights, so I am going to think about it some more but I may do this.

I would for sure take a long break at the resort before the party. You can ,most of the time, get into MK around 4:00 with your party pass. We did a long break/ nap in the room that afternoon (it was a non park day and we had a late breakfast and resort hopped), hit the park about 4:30 and had dinner at LTT at 5:45. DS was is 11 and we all made it till after the 2nd parade. (about 11:30 whenwe left). The party is great and eating at LTT is a special touch.

Have you bought the plane tickets yet? If you can swing it, I'd recommend taking an evening flight and staying at a cheap motel for the night near the airport. We got a 40 dollar internet rate at one place. Free airport shuttle to the hotel. We slept, got up early, checked out and then took a towncar to our onsite hotel. (The towncar was even cheaper than from the airport because there was no airport charge). We dropped our bags off at the onsite hotel and then went to the parks. We weren't exhausted from traveling, our flight was cheaper than the AM flight, and we got a full day's use out of our UPH.
