Has Anyone Done This

I am actually concerned about these threads. I find the thought of people driving all night with their children much more alarming than flying. I am not talking about people who drive a reasonable amount of time and stop, but those who drive straight thru 12 or 20 hours. A large number of car accidents happen because of driver fatigue. I do work with the Girl Scouts and we have mandatory stops and limits on driving time just because of this issue. All it would take is for you to doze off just a little and you could lose control of your car. This is really dangerous in a mini van or SUV since they have a high center of gravity and could easily roll over.

I was in a major car accident 3 weeks ago. By the grace of God, I walked away unhurt. (The cops, insurance agent and wrecker company were all sure I was injured and just had not figured it out!) I know that you are afraid, but driving is NOT without risks. A lot of you will have to drive thru Atlanta which has had some HORRIFIC accidents lately (involving tanker trucks!) While you may feel more in control, you are not in control of what others on the road are doing or have drunk. (Your pilot is sober!)

Whatever you do, please be careful!
