We will be staying at a resort with a food court.

Has anyone ever taken their own breakfast, such as oatmeal packets, and used the microwave in the food court to prepare?

I hate to use a CS for breakfast!

Thanks!

Thats what we are planning on doing except for out first morning we are going to Chef Mickey's. But some of those morning, we will eat poptarts or oatmeal in the room and heading to the parks and grabbing a CS for lunch and our TS for dinner

I haven't done it but I do see people do it all the time. No big deal. Bring it I doubt they will say anything to you. Really what could they say.

We ALWAYS bring our breakfast. We're not huge breakfast eaters so we'd prefer to use our cs credits for lunch or dinner. We bring granola bars, dry cereal and pop tarts usually. Ocassionally my dh will bring back a box of doughnuts for breakfast when he goes to get our drinks in the mornings.

I don't do oatmeal, but always make a grocery stop for breakfast items. For me it's some type of bread/toast/roll (usually a roll when traveling) and a piece of fruit, with individual fruit cups as a back-up.

Another option would be to take a hot pot to heat the water in your room. Possibly not a great idea if traveling with young children--although my parents always traveled with one as far back as I can remember!

They could tell you that the microwave is for food that was purchased AT the food court, not your own private food.

I thought it was just me... we pack cereal bars, oatmeal (I boil the water in the coffee maker and then pour in, or just get hot water from the hot water dispenser at the food court).

The last 2 years I actually packed a small cheap toaster, brought down some bagels and waffles and had breakfast ready for the walk to the bus stop. We eat our waffles with peanut butter.

I found that the paper bowls not styro work best when traveling...

You could just heat water in the coffee pot that would be easier that bringing it to the food court.

Definately breakfast in the room is a must for us! I, too, was going to suggest running water through the coffee pot to get hot water. (And I nver thought about bringing a little toaster ... hmmm).

Anyway, usually cold cereal (milk bought onsite), breakfast bars, bagels with peanut butter (untoasted!!), apples, etc... (not all at once ... just a sample of several days :) )

I don't know about using the micro in a food court. Well ... it would be my luck that someone would say something to me and I would be mortified ... but I am easily intimidated so there is my take on that!

I used the microwave to make grits for my kids and we ate them in the food court. I brought our own bowls and everything. Then I realized that it was easier to just use the hot water that they have down there than waiting for the microwave. No one ever said anything to us.

I've used the toaster at the food court and toasted bread that I purchased at their gift shop. Never had any problems at all.

We used to bring pop tarts and granola bars. This year, we are going to have a delivery of fruit and yogurt from Garden Grocer.

Disney would not care if you use their micros, ppl do it all the time, that is why they are in public areas. :)

Just run water through the coffee maker. This way some people can eat, while others are getting dressed. I wouldn't make the walk all the way to the food court.

I read about some gross stuff that can go on with those coffee pots. I think reading the "inside edition housekeeping" thread ruined from from ever using anything like that in the hotel room again!!!

yup - we've done it - no one even gave us a second glance. not sure if it was partly due to the fact that we bought other things and just made instant oatmeal for our daughter but like others have said i too have seen it and it isn't a big deal.

If WDW cared about guests using the microwaves and toasters for food not purchased in their counter service locations, I am sure they would put signs next to them saying that.

FYI - you can get lots of breakfast items with snack credits at your food court! We used ours for breakfast nearly every morning. Single serve cereal with a carton of milk counts as just 1 credit. You can also get muffins, yogurt, fruit, etc.....

Thanks to everyone for their input.

We've always bought our breakfast using our CS but I would like to use them in the parks this year.

I'm not a big breakfast eater, but my DH does like his oatmeal in the morning.

Do you bring your own coffee pot and use it in your room?

Thanks agian!

I always buy bagels and toast them in the toaster at the food court, no one ever said anything.
