Has Anyone Done This...

In this order to resolve:

1. One long growl to release the frustration
2. A brisk 20 minute walk to calm the mind
3. A glass of your favorite wine to soothe the soul
4. A call to your daughter telling her to pick SB or summer
5. A call to MS to switch the reservation based on daughter's pick

If daughter wants to go SB take any DVC reservation you can get and wait list for what you want.

If it is a summer trip see if you can rent it and use the cash to book her a cash reservation or maybe a Disney cruise.

I know who to go to for advice now :rotfl:

Or just let your daughter know that they were banked points and it's SB or never. If my parents were giving this week to me, I can't see that I'd be particular on when I'd take it!!

I would try to rent the reservation, not necessarily as a trade, but outright. If you need more points to replace it, have someone transfer points to you.

Amen!!!

Mom would say "beggers can't be choosey".

Pop would say "It don't pay to look a gift horse in the mouth"

I made a res at BWV for a SV St for my DD (in college) last summer for (I thought) Spring Break (3/19-25). I just learned I am a week late; her SB starts a week earlier!!! So I have a dilemma; the only other DVC available is SSR (65 pts), plus she is not sure she does not want to wait until summer to go, anyway. Has anyone ever traded a confirmed res for a point transfer? I really do not want to rent this, because I want her to be able to use the points, which I considered her gift from me when I made the res. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

Sharon

I would definitely try and rent the reservation if she doesn't want to go for spring break. They would not only be banked points but also holding points if you cancel outright. Good luck.

I think the thing you are all missing is that the wrong week was booked. Her daughters, as well as all other Oklahoma schools, spring break is the week before what was booked. This of course means that her daughter would be missing a week worth of classes is she went at the time it is currently booked. I am also guessing that the use year will be up before she could go in the summer.

The only thing I could think of is that you could rent your reservation and then use that money to rent a room for her for the summer.

Good luck,
Lori

I would suggest you use the ressie yourself. Lots less hastle. Plus it will give DD a full year to make up her mind and provide the correct dates...

This maybe your best way to go. You could use the money you get from renting the ressie to then rent points (transfered to your account) from someone else to make a new ressie for her.
