I asked DW about going to Palos for our 4 night cruise and she thought we should make every attempt to get a res.

We have 5 children ages 9, 12, 12, 14 and 15 so here's the question.

Have others allowed your children go the normal seating while Mom and Dad enjoy an evening at Palo's? This is not really something we would normally do, as we eat together as a family every evening. Our children are well behaved, and we eat out in nice restaurants a few times a month. They were on a cruise once before, so they kind of know what to expect.

Our other option would be to eat light at our regular seating and have our full dinner at Palo's later in the evening.

We did just that on the 7/6 Western. When we mentioned to our servers the night before that we were going to Palos, they insisted that we send the kids down for their regular seating. We were 3 families and the kids were 6 - 13. They loved being able to go to dinner by themselves, make their own choices and the servers really catered to them. We had early seating, but had 8:30 Palos reservations, so we took the time that the kids were at dinner to get ourselves ready. The kids went off to see the regularly scheduled 8:00 p.m show in the Walt Disney Theater while we were at Palos and then went back to one of our rooms until we finished dinner. As long as they stayed together we felt comfortable.

Yes, lots of folks do that, especially when you have older children as you do. :)

The servers will make them feel very special about dining alone, so feel free to send them to dinner and go enjoy your evening at Palo! :)
