Before I ring and make a twit of myself for asking, I just thought I'd ask here.

We're booked at the Cheyenne for 2 nights, it's cost £637.50. It's now in the 50% sale :sad2: so there's a couple of options I thought I'd check.

Is it possible to upgrade to 3 nights (which is on sale at £670.80) and pay them the £33.33 extra or would they work it out as something different

OR

If I added meal plan to my existing booking, would it get re-priced? (It's now on sale at £495.60 so adding the meal plan at £152 meaning I would need to pay £10.10 more)

Hope that all makes sense

yes, you can do either of those things :goodvibes.

I asked the same thing when I considered booking with the last offer. I believe some people have done this as it's considered a change of booking. Although, Disney have changed their booking process recently, eg 35% deposit instead of 10% when a sale is involved.

I think you should just give them a call and you'll soon know. Don't worry about sounding silly, I'm sure they've heard much worse!!

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for that I will,

Before we decided to go this month, I had asked them if I could amend my Christmas booking to July and because the one in July was cheaper than the one at Christmas they said that it would have to be cancelled and rebooked and I would have lost the 35% deposit, however, if it was "upgrading" then I wouldn't have lost it

So I'll just give them a call in the morning to see how the land lies.

Well called today and spoke to Debbie, nope can't do anything other than cancel the holiday and re-book so don't know if this is now their "new" policy. I asked could I add the half board plan and was also told no, I would have to cancel and rebook.

A little annoyed to say the least but hey guess you win some and you lose some, shame my bookings seem to always be on the lose some side:sad2:

I would try again - its very clear in their terms and conditions - do you have a brochure you could quote to them?

Yes, I think it might be something to do with the change being less than 60 days or so before we go. Tried ringing again but the "computers were down" so got nowhere

the "altering your booking" table in the terms and conditions allows you "exchange of the package booked for an equal or higher value package" without any alteration or cancellation fee, so long as your trip is more than 2 days away, and so long as it doesn't include transportation through Disney, and you're not changing your date of arrival.

exhange of package includes -

a modification of the number of persons sharing the same room,
a change of hotel and/or room type,

booking of services in addition to a package (ie half board plans) have no alteration or cancellation fee.

Elaine, many thanks for that info, I've just come off the phone for the 3rd time lol, spoken to Lucy and explained what I wanted to do, she said no

Basically as she explained it to me. The 50% offer is on new bookings ONLY so I cannot add to my booking and get the new price, nor can I upgrade either the length of stay or the hotel and benefit from the new price.

In order to get the 50% the only way I can do it is to cancel my current booking and make a whole new booking which would qualify for the 50% (which obviously at this late stage would be too much of a loss)

Hey ho.

This doesnt seem very fair and would definately put me off booking in advance in the future...

Sorry you couldnt upgrade your booking, I suppose sometimes you just have to ignore the cost and get on with it. I had a holiday booked in May and after being rushed into hospital and having life saving surgery I had to cancel my holiday in ten days time. I lost £470 in total with the excess on insurance, fee for a Dr note and CC charges. But it made me more determined to take the kids on an even better holiday and 6 weeks after surgery we arrived in Disneyland... It cost us more than we had originally allowed for a 2011 holiday but it was the most amazing holiday we have ever had. Occasionally I think about how much we lost and spent but nothing can take away the memories!
