Has anyone done the Melia Nassau Beach Resort day pass?

I recently watched a DCL vlog where the family went to this resort.
https://www.melia.com/en/hotels/bahamas/nassau/melia-nassau-beach/index.html

It's not an excursion you can book through DCL and you're responsible for transportation. A day pass costs $47 for adults and $25 for children. The resort has several pools and hot tubs along with your typical kayaking, snorkeling and SUP rental options. It looks pretty nice and also has free Wi-Fi.

Just curious if anyone has done it and can provide any useful tips/info on it as I've never heard about it before.

I did this in January with my mother-in-law and my two kids, both age 11. The resort was very nice, however we had a storm blow in so we did not get to experience all they had to offer. We generally like to go to a resort so we can swim in a bigger pool than the ones on the ships...

We took the Jitney, the local bus, on the way to the resort but opted for a taxi on the way back to the ship because of the storm that was about to come in. I didn’t want to get caught in the rain waiting for the bus or walking back to the ship.

I would highly recommend going to the fresh fruit smoothie/daiquiri hut across the street from the Melia. They cut the fruit fresh for your drink...my kids are still talking about that place! That drink was worth going out there!

We booked through BookATourCaribbean.

We did this October 2016 and really enjoyed it. Beautiful resort, nice beach, and would do it again. We took the jitney there and back, which was an experience in it's own right . Our favorite part was you still got a feel for local life. Right on the beach someone was cutting up fresh coconut and making drinks. Such a great time, wonderful memories!

Some great pointers. The resort website doesn’t even mention that they offer a day pass unless I’m not looking hard enough. Another person suggested bookatour so I’ll likely be purchasing the pass from them. I guess you just go to the desk and they’ll hand out a wristband and you’re good 2 go.

The jitney does sound like an adventure. Glad to hear you’d easily do it again.

Yes. We paid a small deposit with BookATourCaribbean. They provided me with an invoice that I brought with me to the resort. Once there, I paid the remaining balance and they provided us with wristbands. It was a very easy process.

Do they provide free beach chairs and if so, is it difficult to get one?
