I did a search for this and came up with some old reviews of the Luau at the Poly. They seemed to be mixed - but they are several years old. Anyone do this recently??? How was the food, the show, is it worth it for a family of 4 with 2 teenage DDs??
Thanks.

We did this last August. Unless you purchase the most expensive seats so you are right down front, your view is limited. Also, it is an outdoor show, so it can be extremely hot, especially if there is no breeze. We thought the seats were quite crowded as well, and found the food to be only fair. Personally, we will not do this again. I would not recommend it for teenagers. I hope this is helpful.

You will get MANY different views on the luau. We did it for the first time in September and we loved it (me, DH, DS12, DS14). We thought the food was great and the show was cute ::yes::. we liked the fire dancers at the end the best, but the entire show was good :dance3:. I read alot of not-so-good reviews before we went and I decided to try it for myself and form my own opinion and I'm glad we went :goodvibes. We went during free dining, but we opted to pay for tier 1 seating rather than use 2 TS credits for tier 2 or 3 and that was a good choice as well (for our family, atleast). We were seated right up front by the stage and had a perfect view of everything :cutie:. The luau isn't something we will do every trip, I can see us going back in a couple of years to see it again :).

We just did this a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It was me, dd14, mil and my aunt. We were on the dp and had decent seats on the side near the front. The food was really good. Although I must say I wasn't crazy about the raspberry sauce that was on the dessert. I just scraped that off and the rest was good. We really enjoyed the show too. Don't know when or if we will do it again. Only because it was expensive because it used 2 table service credits and there are other restaurants we would like to try in the future. I would recommend it though. We are glad we did it.

We went last September also. It wasn't too bad but we won't do it again.

I'd read a lot of reviews here before we went that said 'did it once, that was enough' and that was totally our experience. The food was okay and the show ran too long. We'll stick to O'hana from now on.

Glad we did it once-- but probably won't do again. Kids were bored with the storyline (they were 3, 5, 7). We all loved the fire dancers. Food was "okay". It seemed pretty long to us, probably because the kids got bored (though the fire dancing near the end was the best part). We were there during the winter and it was pleasant. I think it would be really uncomfortable during hot and humid times.

Have to add my name to the 'did it once, that's enough' category. DD6 actually fell asleep during the show :faint: (it was our last night there). Show was okay, fire dancers were cool, food was mediocre. Pele's Punch was TERRIBLE!:crazy2:
