We have never been big Epcot fans and have never seen Illuminations- I know shame on us. Anyways how is the food at LeCellier- we love steak in our family, lol. Also is this a good spot to view Illuminations or would Rose & Crown be a better choice? Thanks everyone for your help.

okay I guess that answers that- duh on my part!!!!!!! I told you we weren't big Epcot fans. So we will try Rose & Crown then.

Rose and Crown is also indoors with a small number of patio tables. There is also a small terrace I believe you may step out on for the show.

The best way, imo, to view Illuminations is to plan dinner for wherever you would like to eat and make sure you are done early enough to get a good spot for Illuminations. I have seen people start staking out spots as early as 2 hours prior to the show, but 1 hour is probably sufficient.

I agree with Good Fairies. Especially since Illuminations isn't until 9pm usually, it seems very late to have dinner if you'll be getting up early the next morning to hit another park. Besides, it would distract you from the wonderful Disney food! :)

Concur. Everyone who shows up at Rose and Crown from 7:00 on has the same idea - get a patio table for Illuminations. Only about a 1/3 of the tables are outside. Its a zoo.

(Eating at Rose and Crown before Illuminations is good, though - according to my husband)

I've been very lucky, getting a table on the patio 3 times out of 8 times we've eaten at Rose and Crown during Illuminations. I surely wouldn't count on it, but rather count yourself fortunate if you get a table with a view.

We eat at the Rose and Crown once a year. We have a little tradition we call "Steak on the Lake". We usually do the Candlelight Processional dinner package and we have gotten an outside table every time for the last 4 years.

Having said this, I would absolutely NOT count on it. There are so few tables and so many parties that want them that it is difficult to accomodate.

One of the best places to eat and watch the show is at the Cantina in Mexico. Get there at least an hour early most times of the year.

This is definitely the place! There are tables right next to the water and if you wish some of the fine Mexican beer or a Margarita with some nachos or one of the (so-so) platters from the fast food bar the time will pass until the fireworks start.

Actually one of the best places to view Illuminations is just a few steps from Le Cellier. When you go up the stairs to the upper level of the Canada pavilion, there is a landing after the first few steps with a railing. A couple weeks ago I got a spot along this railing and it was a great view -- I could see everything, and I still close enough that the music was at about the same volume level, and I could still feel the heat from the inferno barge.
