No base coat... And only 2 coats of a very light mist of my spray sealer (pictured in the link in my original post here)...

I also made two different covers to change the look of mine... Not sure if I should post them here or not, since this thread is about painting rather than sewing... But, it is Magicband related, so some what on topic.

Donald Duck themed cover - however, after making it, I realized it would make a nice Snow White as well:

Not exactly "decorated", but here are all our Magic Bands! I love,love, love all the colors! And is it just a coincidence how they all match my Disney Vera Bradley Hipster? Lol!!

I'm hoping this is an easy question to answer. Since my bands won't be shipped across the border (creates an interesting image of the poor things standing on the bridge!) i'm making fabric covers with iron-transfers that we can just slip on when we get there. Easy-peasy, i have a pattern for the covers themselves but what i need to know is: How wide is the band at it largest (i assume that is where the large Mickey Head is??) I want to make sure that my transfers fit!

If feel bad for all you across the border folks. Do you not know anyone in the US? I kind of want to set up a service to receive people's bands and then send them to Canada and over the pond so you all can have fun decorating as well! Just a thought....

I'm about to decorate my Magic Bands with temporary tattoos and am wondering if there are any techniques for getting the tattoos to go over the Mickey head nicely. It seems like it would be hard to get the tattoo to adhere over the recessed groove of the Mickey head.

Someone else did a pink one somewhat like this earlier and I liked it so much I made one similar but added clouds. I'm not an artist but here is my "Up" themed band. Painted with acrylic paints. Can't wait to show it off in the parks next week.

That is perfect. I love the balloons. I am not an artist at all yet it was so much fun painting mine.

Hi, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has posted their tips for decorating bands, coming from the UK we don't get ours before check in and I've done some basic decoration on mine and my brothers bands, mine is Chip and Dale and his Star Wars, used tattoos base coat and his has a glow in the dark Mickey head

Getting so excited! Our bands will be shipped on September 1st and one of my local friends, who is a very talented artist, agreed to paint our bands! So glad I won't have to ship them off! I'm no artist and I was quite nervous about attempting to paint them myself! Can't wait to post ours when they're done!

I showed it to my husband and it is probably his favorite MB that he has seen. I have been trying to talk him into decorating his or letting me decorate it, but he hasn't seen anything that has made him seem interested until this one. He's more of a Goofy guy than a Grumpy fan, but he really appreciates a well done Grumpy.

There is so much talent on this board! I have 2 bands from a Disney Cruise that I have been practicing on, but I can't make a final decision. I think I will do a Princess tattoo band for my oldest, a Frozen band for my youngest, and Minnie and Daisy bands for my mother and I. I don't have the talent to paint such fabulous designs as other posters, but I will try my best!
