Has anyone cruised with Carnival?

My son and I have cruised disney, carnival and rc. Disney was our first cruise and nothing compares to disney (if you are a disney fan). Anyway we have taken a few more cruises with carnival and rc. We prefer carnival. We felt that RC didn't have as much activities for us. We like to do bingo and all the activities that they do in the area where they do bingo. RC I felt was more for upscale people and Carnival was more relaxed. We are not party animals. In fact this last cruise on carnival we went to one of the dancing areas and stayed a while. I would definitely do carnival again.

My DH and I cruised on Carnival 3 years ago and are planning to do it again this December. We are not party animals by any means, but we had a wonderful time. The shows were fun (not fantastic, but still entertaining), and we enjoyed the other activities aboard, as well. Our servers were eager to please, and everything was very clean. I guess it depends on your style of vacation. Do you like to stay at the Poly or GF when you go to WDW, or are you more value-to-moderate type people? If you are the latter, then I think you will be satisfied, especially if you don't go into it thinking about what you are missing on a different cruise ship.

Dh and I are going on our first Carnival cruise soon! We are going on the Triumph. This will be our second cruise. The first one was RC Voyager.

Two yrs ago in Feb we cruised Carnival with 28 of my husbands cousins...thats the line they chose so we went along...I had my doubts...but it was great....
First off it was very clean..the food was great(we ate in the dining room every night) the staff was wonderful...
The smaller kids loved Camp Carnival..
This was a Western Carribean so we stopped at Montego Bay, Cozumel & Grand Cayman...
I didnt go on any excurisions but the others did and were pleased..I would get a veranda next time tho...the cost for the cruise was around $1200 for both of us and on cabin was up on one of the higher decks.......

I've been on two cruises with Carnival. I've never cruised with anyone else, so I don't have anything to compare it with, but I never had any issues and would cruise with them again.

same with us. We went on an Eastern route on Valor back in 2007 and had a great time.

My parents have done a few and they all have their good / bad points.

Go into with a good attitutde and you'll have a great time.

We cruised on the Valor in 7/06 and loved it! I'm going to get flamed for this but we actually enjoyed it more than our Disney cruise we took in 11/04. It was not a "party" ship and DD loved the kids club! The ports are great too! We weren't fond of Belize but that was the only one!

I have cruised with DCL once, RCCL twice and Carnival once. Carnival is a good line but definitely not as good as Royal Caribbean and Disney. The service and general upkeep of the ships is not as good as RCCL. The ship we went on (the Pride) was at the time only six months old and the carpet had stains and when something was spilled I did not feel much of an effort was made to clean it up. Small problems but it does add to the overall atmosphere of the ship. I also thought the decor was a bit gaudy but not terrible. It was a fun cruise.

If you are looking for a fun time, Carnival is fine. It just doesn't have the service or ships that are near Royal Caribbean.

If you look for something to hate you will find it. Carnival is in no way bad and we had a blast. The people were friendly and the food was good. I would cruise Carnival again if the price was right but I just prefer RCCL.
